Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Leave

I have been informed that my termination will take effect after my return from FMLA/medical leave. After 12 years of working with the company, this is the outcome. honestly, just feel relieved at this point.

@e6 I was underpaid for my tenure. Depends on your field. Mine still offers 20-50% salary over what I got at Wells with a smaller bonus.

I agree that we should be empathetic. However, 12 years is nothing. Were you not paid above average wage for doing the work. Yes the company is toxic but we all stay because of the money or too lazy to go elsewhere. However, i am not sure what the OP is thinking….after 12 years…..do you think the company owes you some atta boys. It is an artificial being run by greedy people. Be grateful and move on. You have plenty of time to figure out next steps. I would argue you should have been looking given the climate

NEWS FLASH

To the author of this post “Leave” and all of those currently employed at Wells Fargo and eagerly praying for a layoff notice so they can collect the meager severance package that WF and all the other banks are so grateful to pay just to be able to shed all the jobs they can:

There has been an earth shattering technological advance in today’s business environment that eventually will surpass the creation of the internet. Welcome to the New World and something called “Artificial Intelligence (AI)”! This recent breakthrough in disposing of the increasing costs of having mere humans get paid to do things that computers can do better now sees banks that used to employ “project teams” getting much more efficient having an AI professional get better results acting as Independent Project Providers. While still in the infancy stage, once all the cheap labor offshore jobs start disappearing because of AI it will really start to hit home that job markets aren’t what they used to be!

Keep praying, you will have them answered sooner or later!

@ak the real troll is @op (or anyone) working somewhere for 12 years and thinking that is worth anything. You negotiate your value during your hiring process then renegotiate yearly based on past performance and are rewarded biweekly. You don’t magically get some “extra credit” for, you know, actually doing the job you were hired to do.

I’m so jealous… I was praying for that outcome when I went on leave last year.
