Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel CFO

I don't get it, how is Dave Zinsner still CFO at Intel? This guy miss managed Intel Finances for the last 4+ years and yet he is still there! I don't get it. His latest comment is about miss reading (or underestimated) Server demand is just mind blowing.

This guy should of been kicked out back in December 2024, yet he is still here. Is the board filled with a bunch of circus clowns or something!.

@e6 You can bet that S&M expected consumers to flock to AI.

Much to their deep chagrin, consumers instead chose to buy laptops which were not so busy spying on them.

Plus look at the price difference between 18a devices and the older nodes.

Add to that the historical failure of S&M to forecast, the source of many past roadmap imbroglio. It will actually be an improvement when all that human fiasco is replaced with AI.

OP, wouldn't missing market demand actually fall on sales and marketing since they are the people dealing directly with the customers? I am not defending the CFO in any way. He is clearly a clown riding a unicycle spraying people with a seltzer bottle in this 3 ring circus of a company. The fact that they missed a spike in demand may indicate a larger systemic issue that people are afraid to report problems to the top executives so they only report good news. We have seen this before and it doesn't end well.

Corporate CFO. What a sh---y job. Almost in line with defense lawyer. I hope he enjoys his hard earned caviar and can still look in the mirror and like what he sees. I'll stick with truth, honesty and my good ol pork & beans.

Yes. The board is indeed filled with a bunch of circus clowns. Getting richer day after day after day.

Two years back they (Gelsinger an Zinsner) were saying they had been Too optimistic and misread the market, now he is saying that he again misread the markets and cut capacity, in other words they (Tan and Zinsner) were too pessimistic.

So two options here, Zinsner is either very incompetent, or he is a "yes-man" uncapable of providing any CEO an opinion that is not aligned to CEO's opinion.

both scenarios are very concerning. He should have left with Pastor Pat.
