100k H1-B

With 100k$ price tag for an H1-B and massive tariffs on outsourced labor and overseas remittances, get ready for an end to this scam of a program.

It's going to be a bright, sun shiny day.

Start packing, Saars.

it is 100k/year, each year for max 6 years. Who tf is gonna pay $600k just for the visa. no company is paying that. only option is hire locals with American citizenship/GC or outsource.

The goal is to use the visas on skilled workers who help US industry. Sometimes these positions cannot be filled because some third party IT firm is grabbing the visa for a cheap worker. The US should be greedy about grabbing the best talent from around the world.

Some big companies are happy with this change because it gives them more access to the visas before we hit the cap. As others mentioned, 16k a year over 6 years is not that much for a highly skilled worker. It could be a lot for a low skilled or entry level IT worker.

The 100K visa has the right intent but may not be the best approach. It does hurt start ups. However, I do understand how any exceptions for start ups can easily lead to abuse.

@mt you might want to do a little more research on your misfired comments. You are consuming the wrong news sources, son.

100K is just the start. Each and every H1-B visa will be thoroughly checked if it qualifies for highly skilled job. Huge number of rejections will be assured.

All I care is the local jobs that cannot be outsourced. Fact is all the jobs CANNOT be outsourced !

Stop the Asian IT outsourcing companies and manufacturing companies from taking over everything here.

Everyone knows about the bias and abuse in H1-B visa.

@db even if there is a 100k fee, that equates to roughly 16k per year based on the six year visa grant. That's peanuts to pay for large companies like CSCO. It won't impact the visa volume at all. What it will do is drive more business offshore. It's business.

Less than 2% this happens. Don't expect any changes anytime soon. The H1B is here to stay. Another smoke screen from our fearless leader.

Executive branch is waiting to see what congress does with the Halting International Relocation of Employment Act" (HIRE Act). If it stalls out, Executive branch will use tariffs. Either way, I'll take it.
