Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

There is not a plan, there never was, except to milk the cow dry. Layoffs were announced about 3 months ago

and we are still 2 weeks out from Dan's plan? Guessing the leadership team was told by the CEO to figure out how to do it with 15k less people (and maybe even 30k less people if the latest reports are true) and let him know the plan by the end of January so he could take credit for it in early February.

actually I have seen this playbook before. I don't think Dan can really turn a $125 billion telecom network company "scrappy". I think they will break the company apart and sell pieces of it. you cant really cut cost too much otherwise you will start impacting network performance, which we have seen lately. the problem with Verizon is subscriber growth.

The aquistion of Assets previously sold off for fiber provides zero competitive advantage since Broadband is comprised of individual homes versus large scale customers.

The fact Verizon's business model is to grow fios on existing base and tout fiber passings further highlights inability of DEI leaders to execute.

Just look at the CMO Commericals she rolls out!

Executives will be departing with millions!

@e3 Dan drifts through the corridors of power without a map—a CEO in title, but a hack by nature, now and forever. There was never a plan, not from the beginning. He is no visionary; his eight years as a board member speak volumes. He is merely a drone, moving only where the invisible hand directs him. This whole charade, it turns out, is merely a preparation for the sale—a final polish to extract whatever value remains before the well runs dry.

Verizon is cooked. If you think the layoffs are bad now, just wait. Wait until it’s sold off to some satellite firm or another carrier, and the real cutting begins.

They talk a big game about "AI" replacing people, a fantasy that’s at least a decade away from any real truth. But guess who remains mysteriously, conveniently irreplaceable? The CEOs. Just look at the rulebook. It’s a nice rule, if you can get away with it.

Dan’s plan is to cut the payroll, A.I. and automate wherever they can. The plan is to get operations costs way down. Verizon operations costs have been too high for too long. Dan has made that very clear.

In the meantime, Dan is probably working to sell the company. I could see why he doesn’t want to tell the company this.

Elon Musk is openly talking about putting Data Centers in space. Which is laughable. Imagine how much it would cost just to change a card going bad? Nevertheless, he thinks they can somehow do this. I

f there is a Data center in space, then there will be a redundant one on the ground. That’s where Verizon’s network comes into play.

Starlink, Amazon and Google don’t want to pay Verizon. So that’s why they will purchase it. They will not do it now because it’s too expensive, and all the people you have on payroll. However, if a CEO cuts the number of employees, automates and A.I. what he can. Well then Verizon looks like a good buy.

This will all happen before 2030.

All of this gamble on AI might not pan out. The amount of double checking that is needed is crazy! AI is a great tool to help data searching and quick QA. We are going to see a big bubble over the next couple years.

There is a major quad EISP coming. They are going to get many to voluntarily leave. Will start fresh with all new hires with no pension. Inside jobs will be A.I.
