Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

OM layoffs?

Has anyone heard anything about OM layoffs? Just seems really quiet in the function…

@vn I don’t think this is unique to Indians by any means, though the population of people in that role tends to skew that way. I work in OM and have several awesome Indian colleagues that work very hard to get real work done. I do also have Indian (and non-Indian) coworkers who are masters of the “smoke and mirrors” powerpoint game.

OM is Offering Management and they have one of the worst workloads of anyone in the company.

@gt and these are manly indians, that will say yes to anything, and deliver nothing.

@gt the “yes men” who are loyal to certain fiefdoms in Honeywell are pervasive throughout the company, they know no boundaries!

@e1 and leadership acts surprised when there’s no innovating, and this now npi revenue.

I would not agree with another statement said here about there being many duds in offering. I would most are extremely smart and capable, specially to have to deal with the internal bs. The problem with offering is that it’s full of yes men who are loyal to their leaders and not to the company. There are cultural differences as well that hinder results

@fx some are actually knowledgeable about their products, and some are knowledgeable only about powerpoints

The bar for offering management is embarrassingly low. We have some great ones, but we have a lot of duds that seem to stick around much longer than they should be allowed.

@e1 I saw HCE lay off a bunch of Offering Management a few years ago (the group was Product Operations). On the PA side OM got a new leader and got moved out from under the SBGs so I think they have the good fortune to be a bit removed from all the uncertainty for now.

Offering management. But it’s like a church offering because the function relies on budgetary charity.
