@dy Wrong ,they get prevailing wage in NY on government contracts/jobs. This does not apply to the private sector.
Unless you are willing to climb, there isn’t much future left in being a cell tech. Last I heard, all they have left to do is open trouble tickets. That would be easy to automate or contract out…

There’s a lot of different jobs out there. Specifics are needed. We have many field jobs. Are you talking VZW, VZB, VZT, legacy frontier??
MasTec is a contract company that does osp work ,for telephone ,electric,gas,etc etc and they pay their outside field tech Half of what vz pays their outside workers.
Problem is with the union you folks it takes forever to get something accomplished...they do to want to work...not all of them but a big number are just lazy slackers that hide behind a contract, do not learn anything new and when you ask something...good lord!!!... A vendor, the minute you ask...a split second after you get a sound response....they want work..period....sadly it is the true and sorry for some union folks that are solid but their association makes them only one
