Well folks the day has come as my last day here at fidelity. To this community I want to say thanks for the entertainment and the small pockets of actual true facts warning on layoffs. To those affected by the layoff I wish you the very best and hope for a speedy bounce back to a job less toxic and more pay. To those still at fidelity I hope you guys make it through the sh-t show that has ensued.

Something’s rotten in Denmark - numbers under Abby have gone up.
With any new hires starting in June already in the system as well as the interns, this is looking like at least 3k laid off, right? Or it could even be 4k if we have 1400 new hires.

What to make of it?
@jg I think the interns were adding a few hundred every week in May. That’s why I divided the total number of interns by 4 for the week ending May 29 - for estimation.
@e0 , there were more than 1410 fidterns in 2025. Assuming same # of fidterns this year, 1217 + 1410 = 2627.
Why do YT treat it like an airport terminal? No need to announce your departure.

@dv yes. Last night 87977; today: 86760; so the difference is exactly 1217. With all the interns adding, the number should be at least 1500+
Checked Who’s Who today. There are 808 fewer people than there were on May 8th when I wrote it down. But the Fidterns are all in the system already, and I’m sure all the new people starting in June. So no way to know for sure. Anyone write down The Who’s Who total yesterday by chance?
