All I’ve seen over the past year is top performers being shown the door, while the slickest office-politics players stay and continue damaging teams. Why is leadership so allergic to retaining actual talent?

@xj the shenanigans with JM/BJ and SBS will play out. It’s just a matter of time. This has been going on for far too long even dating back to the days of HH and SH. How many times does one VP actually get a pass for their inappropriate misconduct?
The problem is that his intimidation tactics leave everyone fearing for retaliation if they do speak up. The only one that is actually protected is SBS and several others that know all about JM‘s little secrets.
How much longer will TH and RL continue to protect these pathetic leaders? The PR won’t look good. Do the right thing. You have a CSO who is supposed to be protecting the people and the product yet he sits back and bullies, intimidates, and has inappropriate relationships with his subordinates. He thinks that he is above any policy. So-called investigations regarding his behavior, aren’t actually even investigations. It’s a slap on the wrist and swept under the rug. Meanwhile, leaving everyone in his org having no respect for him (except SBS).
That’s what she said
It’s bizarre how people are joking about the JM/BJ/SBS drama. This is all a lawsuit… this is the Coldplay situation, this is unprofessional. This is something that will play out and Nike doesn’t need bad PR. I just want it fixed.
@wc WTAF is wrong with you?
@dm you mean his HRBP name BJ! Seems fitting. How has the entire org not reported this. Between the 3 of them It’s become a joke and we are trying to conduct business. While those 3 spend every Tuesday in his office like it’s the Frat Dads meeting. Don’t worry though because he’s been protected many times. It’s not his first rodeo despite the fact that he thinks he’s a cowboy now.
Oh its not just JMs HR. SBS is getting a piece of that action. They have to share everyday.
@dm laughing out loud because IYKYK. She doesn’t add any value so he’s gotta keep her busy. She’s
@f7 Have no fear. JM is the king of having posts about himself removed promptly. Trust me. He’s afraid his misconduct might catch up. Legal protects legal. Duh. The truth hurts JM and it’s actually pathetic that these VPs are being protected. So much dirt and it’s just a matter of time before the lies and misconduct catch up. Pretty sure his entire organization can see what he (and she) got going on. Not his first BJ and won’t be his last.
Remember when top executives were accused of inappropriate behavior, including s*xual harassment, with some claims involving consensual acts with subordinates, leading to some departures and reshuffles……..why wasn’t JM part of that? Asking for a friend.
@f7 Wait so you are bothered by the limits on the discussion of debauchery on this forum and not the actual debauchery?
If by performance you mean making your manager’s manager like you. Yes.
you mean ppl who actually did a good job or just on paper?
Wow… I’ve already made up mind to do my best to leave this rotten place this year.. considering some of the replies on this thread, this is the last time I visit this forum as well. I’m surprised they erase posts regarding s-xist female managers but they don’t erase posts related to b..jobs.. that tells you something about who monitors this forum. Just like the work environment at Nike that is pretty s-xist all around.. from female managers to male colleagues and managers, free for all when it’s anonymous.
they remove competitors
they get bonuses for dei
they are indian bringing in other indians
@dv This is a bizarre take and if you don’t know why, you are part of the problem.
This is what I think because i witnessed it first hand - because the people making the decisions are inept and incapable or understanding who the needle movers are so it ends up being based on who is saavy at getting their name out there regardless of skill. they are able to do this since they work on prioritizing relationships and the true needle movers prioritize the work but that ends up making them a byproduct of out of sight, out of mind.
@b3 bro, let it go. Just because you've never had a blow job, doesn't mean it's a big deal to anyone else. You're self identifying as an incel.
I heard JM had a HARD time performing for his HRBP. #resilience
No… because these leaders are weak and insecure and prioritize those who su-k up to them and tell them only what they want to hear.
Indian and 3rd world cultural influence
No. Not as long as consulting firms are making the layoff decisions.
No...the leaders still require blowjobs....so their favorites will stay
When layoffs are led by internal leaders and not consultants.
No
They care about performance theatre. They They do not care about actual performance.
Then they wonder why they are no longer capable of innovating...
No.
Because they aren’t real leaders and only care about self-promotion or self-preservation.
