Seeing a bunch of complaints on Slack about SpaceX and Elon lately.
Be real for a second: If you had to put your own money into just one company right now — SpaceX or Nike — which are you actually choosing?

lotta musk ball gobblers here. even his baby mommas won't touch his di-k, why you fanboys going so hard?
@rf No one cares about the shoes that SpaceX employees wore for an hour at the market open. Does squat for the Nike brand and share price.
Well now that SpaceX owns Cursor, we can directly help fund it!
@th can't wait to see your post on r/wsb about how you lost everything when you got rug pulled by the IPO pump and dump
@th You are such a baller. Apologies for the pittance you've made at Nike over 5 years.
Pocketed 30% gain from SPCX … more than I’ve made from NKE in 5 years so that’s that…: some of y’all stick to what you do best, Whine about Nike while waiting in line for free Nike stuff then posting about how honored you are on LinkedIn.
Looks like the Slack post is gone. Curious if the comment about right wing salutes and escalating it to DEI actually went anywhere.
It’s wild how a pair of custom Nike shoes worn by SpaceX employees makes some of you snowflakes cry. It’s just Nike showing up in a high visibility moment. Intentional or not, that’s the kind of exposure brands spend millions trying to get.
@r4 irrelevant. Yeah .000001% of people get rich off an IPO, has nothing to do with "common person". Typical AI generated garbage
Great question @pr . Several articles are reporting that approximately 4,400 SpaceX employees, ”regular people”, are now millionaires, following the IPO.
”Inc, 6/12/2026, An Intern Disobeyed His Parents and Joined SpaceX in 2011. Following Its Historic IPO, He and Thousands of Other Employees Are Now Millionaires”
https://www.inc.com/brian-contreras/4000-spacex-employees-millionaires-elon-musk-ipo/91360232
”The New York Times, 6/10/2026, SpaceX’s I.P.O. Could Turn 4,400 Employees Into Millionaires”
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/10/technology/spacex-ipo-employee-millionaires.html
@pr
I made $2k today, so…
@dt how exactly does Elon help "regular people like you and me"?
@m7 Starlink is profitable yes, it's the only thing they have that is.
Space services (i.e. rockets) do get massive amount of money from questionable government subsidies and contracts, but operates at a massive loss due to the costs involved in R&D
AI division has been classified as a "money furnace" and burns billions of dollars with zero return.
They have a net loss of $5 billion, think about that, they are burning $5 billion a year even with being subsidized by one profitable service and a ton of tax payer money
The thing most people don’t realize about SpaceX is where their revenues come from:
61% StarLink
22% Space contracts
17% A.I.
So, 78% of SpaceX revenue comes from non-space revenue. I have no ill will toward Elon. He built great companies. Jealousy is an ugly thing. That being said, do your homework instead of just jumping on the bandwagon because of FOMO.
@hr I don't think SpaceX would be a company without Elon. We can recognize all the issues with Elon, capitalism and concentration of wealth and still acknowledge the fact that SpaceX has accomplished something remarkable.
Why invest in either when the S&P 500 is an option
@dt all good points. But let me frame this a bit differently....what valuation will SPCX get without Elon?
Starlink is a business that works. SpaceX can get astronauts stuck in space back home. It has developed reusable rockets. All these are not hype, these were extraordinarily accomplishments. As much as you can keep ranting about your political differences with Elon, he does help regular people like you and me create wealth. Sometimes we need to get out of our eco chambers and get a reality check.
Neither. SpaceX is hype and a detriment to Earth and space. Elon needs to invest in more environmentally friendly establishments. Tesla and SpaceX will quicken earth's demise which will definitely result in the need to colonize outside earth. Need to stop. I have no desire to move to Mars.
@bh SpaceX is hemorraging money, Nike is making money. In real world, Nike's stock should be higher. Mission is secondary to profit. We all know the only reason their stock is high at all is because of FOMO and his cult fanbase
SPCX has a more inspiring mission and infinitely larger capacity to scale than NKE. Ever wonder why people at NKE seem so d-mb? It’s because the smart people skip NKE to join companies like SPCX now. The world has changed and NKE hasn’t kept up.
SpaceX
SPCX is a meme stock. Elon is taking money from the masses to fuel his delusions in space. Good luck @ 100 x earnings.
Elon cuts through the BS and fires sh-t leaders while EH turns his head the other way and cries.
Uh ... what was the third choice?
vs BA Gender Studiesvs Too many employeesvs 5,147 thelayoff.com threadsSPCX 📈✅📡🚀⚡🛰️🌕👽
It's down ~5% from it's opening price today, so seems just like NKE
Anyone buying IPO price shares today is a a designated bagholder
If I had to put my own hard-earned capital into one today?
I would liquidate my entire 404(b), buy a 50/50 split of Nike stock, but only wear SpaceX-branded merchandise while tracking the portfolio. Why? Because you need the physical comfort of Flyknit technology to endure the psychological G-forces of Elon's Twitter feed.
It’s about synergizing the footwear of today with the escape pod of tomorrow. To do anything else is just financially irresponsible.
