Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Internal Source - Caught

The working theory is that our “leaker” was caught and no longer with us.

I hope that someone will step up and take their place.

Real news on RIFs
This site used to have good information related to coming layoffs. Now all it seems to have is people complaining about upper management and/RTO. Sadly, the site is becoming more irrelevant as time passes.
So I will try one more time. Does anyone have any REAL intell on coming layoffs?

@e2 Yes, I am aware leadership could care less, but every once in a while, I take pleasure in rubbing their noses into what they SHOULD be doing to make this company a better place to work. :)

@dt - You seem to be assuming management at the company cares about anything besides their wallets. THEY DO NOT. Get used to it.

@dg Now it seems to be after the fact but there were plenty of rif dates supplied in advance that were accurate. Doesn’t help with plan b but as someone who was riffed on a preannounced date I handled the riff meeting with grace because I knew what it was when it popped up last minute on my calendar. It’s too bad no one gets advance notice anymore. Again it’s about knowing what that last minute meeting is when you had a rewarding and handling with grace because you weren’t totally blindsided. Anyone who says this shouldn’t matter seems like someone who never experienced a blindsided riff before. Trust me you would appreciate the warning.

@b3 Instead of leadership just stewing over our honest sharing of information on this site, they should be working to correct what is making their employees so dissatisfied and angry. Leadership should be studying the post contents on this site and doing their own research to confirm the situations exist and what to do to address them. Instead, they are busy taking extravagant six-week vacations and busy traveling between the multiple homes they own, the result of withholding from the hard-working employees that are keeping this place running.

Lots of people who don't work at this place anymore feel they are obligated to share what they know to help people realize they are not alone, crazy etc. This place is not transparent, there is no outlet except this site for people to share or to vent - as far as the RIF - I agree - be prepared all day everyday that it could be you - have a plan B - I seriously doubt that a heads up on this site will be helpful to your plan B - except to validate you need it - all RIF info is after the fact as far as I can see.

I like the new content- more nuanced info about what is really going on. Regarding RIFs - just read the room - you work for a struggling company where these reductions are part of the overall strategy - you should just be ready or at least not surprised if a RIF occurs in your space.

Do not use Spark because it can be traced back. There are people that monitor Spark and Enterprise ChatGPT.

@aj Leadership hates the posts, and are astroturfing at this point. They definitely watch and they definitely hate it.

@OP I agree with you. I wish I had intel on layoffs as I would definitely share information on this site. I come out here much less frequently than I used to as the same hits keep playing over and over again.

This OP is just trying to derail the layoff conversation. The goal is to push people into oversharing so info can be traced back and shut down.

When you see “this site is irrelevant” from an obvious troll, it usually means leadership is watching and doesn’t like the posts.

Share what you want, but do not:

Post your exact job title or team

Call out individuals who aren’t named officers

Write in a way that makes your style recognizable (run it through a free AI tool on your own device if needed).

Use Spark or any internal systems to post.

The bigger question isn’t whether people vent online — it’s why leaders focus on controlling narratives instead of building a stronger company. If layoffs stopped, there’d be nothing to talk about.
