Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Opex to 27

From the genius who brought you Drive to 25, comes the thrilling sequel you didn’t ask for "Opex to 27!"

This bold new initiative is here to revolutionize the way Cigna operates by… well… making life absolutely miserable for its employees and its members, all in the name of “efficiency” (and by efficiency, we mean profits).

Here’s how it works:

Cut costs – but not the executive bonuses, obviously. Those are untouchable.

Offshore your job to India faster than you can say “please don’t.”

Reduce operating expenses by increasing operating stress — for everyone except the C-suite.

Enhance the customer experience by removing anything that actually makes it enjoyable.

It’s like Drive to 25, but with fewer employees, less morale, and more creative ways to pass the savings directly to… shareholders.

So buckle up, folks "Opex to 27" is coming, and it’s bringing layoffs, burnout, and “do more with less” to a cubicle near you.

I'm a former employee, I left many months ago. I am in a new employer in a senior level position. My new company is actively researching health plans to offer our employees for 2026. Cigna is one of our options, and you best believe I've persuaded them not to consider Cigna. Yes im petty... I learned this skill working at Cigna.

The real scandal is how other larger companies provide better Cigna medical insurance (less premiums and lower deductibles) to their employees than Cigna does (I've seen it first hand).

@e2 This only shows that you truly lack character and contribute to the problem. You need to look in the mirror, self-reflect and remember that no one owes you this job. There are a lot of people that would love to have your job, so you are holding a position and effectively stealing from the company. Please find another company that you feel will value your genius and reward you accordingly.

@e8

Oh yeah. Who would have ever imagined that the oppositional relationship created by the company, might also be used by the workers?

But let's assess your "contribution" here:

"Sorry your work is discernible and doesn’t get you noticed"

Do you even know what discernable means or did you just blindly copy and paste a big word in order to look literate?

Who said I want to be noticed by "leadership" at Cigna? Entirely the opposite.

"Sounds like you need to improve your work then."

Yep. Right away. I'll improve it immediately, based on the improvements "leadership" makes for the workers. Based on history, I'm not too concerned.

"Even if you are entry level, they way you do your job can stand out, and it sounds like you don’t and your production is as weak as your attitude…."

You are an absolute simpleton.

Who cares about "production" or "attitude" in this cesspool? Is "production" or "attitude" going to save domestic jobs?

For over a decade, I've extracted maximum financial value from this company, with minimal personal investment, and delivered a minimal functional objective. My ethics and morals were fluid, and my social responsibility in doing so was a ruse. I extracted value until there was no more value to extract, and an empty well of a corporation was all that remained.

Cigna made me in their image, and I hope they are proud of their creation. My shareholders are certainly happy with their ROI.

"so no wonder you’re so sour, it must be su-k being a corporate squander."

And we've come full circle. Back to functional illiteracy. "Corporate squander" makes no sense in this context.

Anyway, I love coasting on easy money while actively working against corporate interests.

You should dislodge that boot from your mouth, take some remedial reading comprehension and vocabulary lessons and try again after you've obtained a clue 😉

Of course! That combination of buttlicking, self-absorbsion, and lack of concern for anyone else is difficult to find and makes you an ideal candidate. Unless, of course, your position ends up outsourced or replaced by AI...

Yeah, better hurry and take all that PTO. Wouldn't want to lose any under the new employee-centric rules that you seem to adore.

Thank you, you really think I can be C-Suite one day?! I appreciate your opinion and suggestions! I would tell my friends at lunch but I’m on PTO today, enjoying life and the perks of Cigna

@dt

Quit? What a novel concept. How long did you have to struggle to generate that little tu-d of wisdom?

But anyway, no. I will not quit. I will remain until the bitter end, accumulating direct deposits, doing almost no discernible work, helping negate work done by others, and squandering corporate resources.

As you can see, I've got too many important tasks to do, to even consider quitting.

Why don't you run along and have a nice little chit chat with your "friends" in the office since you seem so enthralled there?

@d1

So your only concern is what happens directly to you? Anyone else, too bad. With an outlook like that, no wonder you like it here.

You may even be c-suite material if you play your cards right. So much like DC and his fartsniffers.

Yes, I haven’t been laid off, I’m not in IT so my job isn’t going to HIH, it’s been a half a decade since Covid and I like going in to see my friends, at the end of the year I still get all my PTO I don’t need it rolled over, and I really like co pilot. So yeah, I really like working here except for people like you

What's to like? Continued layoffs? HIH hiring? No movement on RTO mandate? Reduction in rollover PTO? Forced adoption of Copilot?

If you haven’t already, start applying to other jobs and get out. Don’t even give these F’ers a two week notice. Just go. You won’t regret it.

Since Drive to 25 was a broad-based failure, why not do it again? Maybe the red hot stove burner won't blister your hand this time...

But can our lives be made any more miserable than DC and his buttlick brigade already have?
