as you saw yesterday, our resident troll now learned how to reply to himself and upvote own replies and threads by dozen of updoots (private browser tab says hi)
he still lacks patience and upvotes/downvotes and replies to himself within short period of times, but it can be safely assumed that you cannot believe anything on this board, he permanently poisoned it.
so wait for hard facts and external verifications before panicking.

It absolutely has to be tomorrow or bust? If they started Friday or mid next week, all credibility permanently lost?

It isn't a rumor. Close friend is a manager and gave me a heads up last week that they were all being asked to submit employee rankings by end of the week, and that a specific percentage of every team had to be in the bottom tier. Originally planned to start this week, but it's been pushed back. They weren't sure to what date exactly and didn't want to speculate.

and if tomorrow, after all this extravaganza, they don't start again (as they didn't for the past month of daily panic threads), this board will be permanently discredited. just by a single a--hole.
Unfortunately, our "leadership" decided that we don't need or deserve transparency about minor topics like our continued livelihoods, so this is what happens instead.
Take it up with the folks causing all this.
