Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Major Workforce Shift Underway at T-Mobile

Employees report ongoing layoffs, aggressive cost-cutting measures, and a continued expansion of operations in India. Cybersecurity and operational teams have been among those affected, raising concerns about the future of U.S.-based roles.

According to discussions among employees, more work is being transferred overseas as the company focuses on reducing costs and consolidating operations. Many are questioning the long-term impact on workforce stability, service quality, and institutional knowledge.

The lack of transparency surrounding these changes has become a growing concern for employees across the organization.

Today, another hit for US workers: T-Mobile execs just dropped an 8-K boosting shareholder payouts by $3.6B, topping $18.2B this year. Meanwhile, garbage management at every layer is burning multi-millions on home-built "AI" apps that ain't even real AI—it’s literally just a basic script using ChatGPT in the backend haha. VPs are flexing fake tech just to brag, capping and selling out real workers to pump the stock.

@f8 July 31st. The real question is when Bellevue HQ is scheduled to close and move to Overland Park, Kansas.

T-Mobile’s PR is straight-up capping with that "moving contractors" BS to spin this massive workforce shift and save face. It’s a total slap in the face to workers stressed about ongoing layoffs. While everyday staff worry about their families, useless management keeps playing games and hiding behind zero transparency.

@e4 Mayflies.. I remember when they moved out of B4 and up the mountain. Lacking perspective.

I’m so glad I did them dirty and dipped last month before they could even touch me or close the Snoqualmie engineering office. Sinking ship fr. I'm at SX now and the growth opportunities here are insane. Safe to say I'm way better off.

@d9 It was good for regional folks that didn't want to drive to Parsippany. The ops folks there got booted years ago when they shut down Lancaster.

Yeah sleepy Mike straight up dropped it on the call that Bothell is getting nuked too.
Man, I just tried testing that new commute from Maple Valley to HQ and it was a fu--ing nightmare. No shot I am doing that. I am updating my resume right now and getting the he-l out.

Anyone heard if Bothell is getting chopped next?
On god I am panicking. With Snoqualmie getting nuked, it feels like Bothell is next on the hit list. Are they shutting it down too or what?

Fr though I am not even surprised about the Snoqualmie office closing down. Most of the people working there are just straight up coffee takers who don't do any real work anyway. They literally just show up to take long lunches and then head straight home.

Bro Allentown has been dead for a minute. They completely gutted that office and fired like 600 people a while ago. That place is literally a ghost town now.

It’s official now, they literally just dropped the bo-b on us in a meeting. The Snoqualmie engineering office is shutting down by August, and we're all getting dragged back to HQ just so we can be closer to the snakes.
And you just know that August bloodbath is coming right after this news to finish the job and get the rest of us.

Is that August bloodbath actually a done deal or are we just spinning out over the rumor mill?

Man, it’s straight up exhausting. They preach all that "Un-carrier" family BS while secretly shipping our jobs overseas. The corporate gaslighting is insane. Nobody knows sh-t, and everyone’s just stressing, waiting to get locked out of their laptops on any random morning.
Plus, the annual August bloodbath is right around the corner. Are we all just sitting ducks here? Who the he-l is next?

That is the "leadership" of this company. They are liars and frauds who gaslight you into thinking they are good people.

Spot on. Two of my org team members already left for companies that actually respect their employees. Meanwhile, a lot of teams under Jesse Cook don’t even have real projects or meaningful work right now to justify keeping our jobs. You can’t ki-l transparency, starve teams of actual work, and expect top talent to just sit around.

Couldn't agree more. The whole situation has been incredibly frustrating. Good people keep getting laid off while more work gets pushed offshore, and nobody seems willing to be transparent about what's really going on. I've already started looking for a new job.

So much for cybersecurity being a solid future occupation. Outsourcing to AI threatening US jobs. You literally can’t win when trying to plan what to do in tech.
