@OP and supports ending the greatest public service program of the 20th and early 21st century, Social Security. Mike is a disgusting, disgraceful oligarch.

Why do you all care about what he does with his personal money? This has nothing to do with the company or pay etc. He doesn't pay you out of his personal account. Some of you need to take a business 101 class.

Forgive me if I question his motives, but do you believe he would have done this if it wasn't associated with Trump? Clearly trying to buddy up.

If he was a little more generous to the people that work for him, maybe the employee morale wouldn't be in the toilet and the company would actually be more profitable.

@a8 That’s uncalled for. I too take exception to the path that MD has led the company on in the past couple of years but attacks on personal appearance bring the posts on the this level to the middle schools taunts that Trump is so fond of.

This isn't a write-off. It's an offering to curry favor with an entity that can cripple or boost corporations by increasing or decreasing tariffs without warning, check, or oversight.

MDs Roth IRA contributions probabaly do not qualify as deductible because of the income. I would love to see composition of the fund they will use to invest all this baby money.

@b1 You realize that "tax writeoffs" would only save him about 1/3 of what he donates do you not? So the guy donates around $6B to save $2B in taxes on the donation..... Say what you want about how he manages Dell the company, but this is a very generous gift

Just in time for the end of the year. Michael must have had a difficult time finding a way to avoid taxes and will now use this as a write off.

I think it would have been more useful if put this money towards families who struggle with getting food or other needs. Now, he’s giving a bunch of kids money that will taxed in the future or worse, money that could be irresponsibly used on luxury. Kids don’t want to wait. They’re only focused on the here and now.
