@hc if they come to the U.S. and earn consulting revenue for SAP in the U.S., for IRS tracking and SAP filing purposes they need a work permit. One minute, one hour, or one week doesn’t matter - if they earn 5 cents US of revenue for SAP in the U.S. they need a work permit.
There are still way too many neophytes out there who think they can cross the border and enter the U.S. under the situational guise of “attending a business meeting” then earn revenue for SAP while here. Doesn’t fly. The U.S. IRS and SAP ultimately catch up with you through your billing a customer (timesheets) while working here in the U.S.

We don’t need h1-b they can work from India . If they come to USA they should not stay more than 1 month and should always go back . I don’t think there is any consulting work more than 1 month with a customer face to face . Rest can be done by zoom .

@h4 Sounds like I touched a nerve. So if you lot had nothing to do with taking that land and admit it was taken give it back to it's rightful owners. Right the wrong of your ancestors.
Imposing its will on others seems to be the American way whether or not it is welcome. The presumption that America is the be all and end all is way past its sell by date. You lost that credibility when on mass you re-elected a convicted felon, with an extremely dubious past in several areas.
Theres credibility in caring about other individuals, I prefer it to the hate filled mutterings from individuals like yourself who have zero credibility. I don't care what you think I sound like or that you think i'm a virus, you can own that piece of self righteous BS.

@gg Illegal means against the law. Every American who is alive today had nothing to do with taking this country and is a legal citizen according to the established laws. You talk like a kid who is fresh out of college who has never been taught to think critically. Ironically, that's a big reason why SAP is in the shape that it is. They polluted the talent pool with cosplay activists who play techie on the side and it shows.

You, and those who think like you, are a virus in every group or organization you involve yourself with and you offer no real value.

@ck All white Americans are illegal aliens, don't you know that? It wasn't and isn't your country, you just came in and grabbed/ stole it from the native nations. You should read your history before posting your hate speech here.

@dv HR should have been doing it as HR when PgM’s and PM’s were standing on their heads trying to deliver on-time go-lives. Good luck with that!

@d1 since SAP no longer hires program/project managers, what new su-k<ers will step up to spend 50+% of their productive time managing immigration and customs enforcement for ex-US consultants “landing here a few times per year”?

@d1 it’s gotten completely out of control in the US. Things are changing, just not fast enough. Write your congressman, make sure you provide evidence of what’s going on. I did, and I got a response it’s being addressed.

It's good to see the US finally catching up with the rest of the western world in terms of wage equality. That said, there are barely any worker protections, the tipping culture is the worst, and US based companies still treat Americans like garbage. You should only give H-1B visas for jobs that cannot be done by Americans on the equivalent wage. In Germany, we only offer long term work contracts and visas where alien employees bring have skills that are missing in the locals and they should get a salary above the minimum threshold. That way we ensure that the aliens brought in are actually skilled and actually contribute to the company. SAP's consulting model will not break completely as employees are paid based on their region of residence. Instead of H-1B visas, SAP will have rotating consultants who only visit a few months a year. And SAP will still charge the same or more. So effectively this is worse for Americans but great for SAP.

Illegal aliens need to go home. Leave western countries or be kicked out, both work. Ice ice baby.

Every h1 candidate should be required to enlist in a branch of the US military and only receive the visa after obtaining an honorable discharge. Put some real blood in the game like millions of American's have done.
