Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

They want us to break

The layoffs are always happening. The changes never stop. The goals are made up. Nothing makes sense. I've never seen a place so consistently designed to make people miserable. I think they want us to quit.

Sorry trying to reply to multiple people but it was a clear case of retaliation. When to HR & then immediately on a PIP after.
I also submitted my documentation of my PIP and my response to the PIP (when I was on the team). I submitted all to unemployment and stated what happened. The state stated since they failed to prove misconduct, it was approved.

And she’s still there. But the look of how Centene is now, there are better opportunities that await. Anyone who was there back in 2023 knows about that big layoff that happened. From the comments, it seems like another is on the horizon. I do not miss that constant stress.

12 here’s with lots of changes. Gear every year. It’s a matter of time before being hacked. I miss Michael Neidorff. There was so much more respect with him in our work culture years ago. I’ve been let go twice. Come back with less pay. This one will do me in.

@c7 you had a bad PL then. Come back. Trust me, I was under one once too. She’s gone now. Thank God

@ak That’s what happened to me. Terminated after 7 years with the company and I never had a bad performance review until my last PL put me on a PIP (she was my 5th PL). They offered me 2 weeks of severance (declined of course because I had enough documentation for unemployment that I got approved for. This place was not worth the stress. Glad I’m out !

I wish people would rate this company what it deserves on Glassdoor, etc. Everyone I speak with across the board is miserable, but somehow 3.7 stars on Glassdoor?

@OP Yes. They make the work environment horrible so you quit. If you quit, they don’t have to pay severance. If they fire you, it has the potential for lawsuits, unemployment, etc. which they will always avoid those situations. They avoid it by increasing productivity or setting unrealistic goals knowing it can’t be met, tell you not to worry about it, secretly document everything and suddenly you’re on a PIP, eventually resulting in termination for cause.

Productivity increased lately that’s unrealistic…✅
Leadership saying “Don’t worry about it”…✅
Guess what’s next people…

I couldn’t agree more! The leadership running this circus is such a joke.
