TI Labor Budget Increase Less Than Cost of Living

Just want people to be aware that the current labor budget increase for TI is only a few percent over the next five years. It's well below a cost of living increase for existing employees assuming no new hires or attrition. There are more layoffs planned for the future.

30 years in the semi industry. Barely COLA increases have always been the norm unless you jump ship or move up in your own company. I've known people being successful doing both. YMMV.

I moved from my 1st company for a 45% increase. I did ok at TI though stagnated for a few years in the middle until changing roles. I'm old enough now that I'm doing ok and don't care though I'll keep working hard into hopefully retiring early.

They always ask us to Do the right thing, but it seems they do not give a sh-t.

@df if TI doesn’t pay a salary that covers cost of living, how do they expect to have the workforce they need, if no one can live off of what they are paying? At some point employees will look for jobs/homes elsewhere.

Cost of living is employees’ problem, TI doesn’t care about it. Raises are determined based on cost of labor in a certain region.

Name an employer that gives raises more than cost of living? When things are in a downturn, nobody does. When things are good, it's good, when it's bad....it's bad.

35 years with the company
....went through no raise at all for 4 annual periods. Yeah...it su-ked...but will admit still getting a check was a better alternative than none at all. Never saw profit sharing until year 9 with the company. Since around 2005...profit sharing finally became a real benefit.

Down 5% from last year.

If you want more than a triffle, move into leadership, a new role, or TL.
