Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Have they hit the 2K yet?

Or are they still at it? This was supposed to be done by the end of February.

@fs No, it is for the entire Cigna Group. I work for Accredo, it is all the same. My building has Express Scripts on the other side, and they have laid off about 70 people on that side, and only one person so far on our side. The company wide email that they sent was for all of Cigna. They will be making cuts throughout 2026, because they want to go more towards A.I and oversees operations, their exact words in the email.

From past experience, the dates in the NJ WARN notice are the termination dates, not the layoff dates. Most folks get 30 or 60 day notice in NJ before termination, higher bands get 90 days.

This company seems to be in layoff mode to move jobs overseas, primarily to HIH but also to other locations.

No Cigna/Evernorth employee in the US is safe.

@fg this is what i found Cigna’s subsidiary, Evernorth Services, filed a WARN notice in February 2026 indicating 134 employee layoffs at its Morris Plains, NJ, facility. These layoffs are scheduled to occur between April 29, 2026, and May 20, 2026. This is part of a larger, ongoing corporate initiative to cut roughly 2,000 jobs company-wide through the end of 2026. That s not Cigna that s evernorth and it is not on Morristown is on Morris Plains NJ mostly IT.

@d2 Do you work in NJ? You sound really nervous and you’re throwing out numbers that seem like pure speculation. As far as I know, the Morristown location is mainly a sales office, and I doubt they’d lay off the people who actually bring in revenue. NY and NJ are two of the most profitable markets in the country.

@de Seeing a ton of new job posts on LinkedIn from HIH right after the 1/29 layoffs. Possible those layoffs are not included in the count.

@ae The 2000 number refers to the net result of actual headcount reductions. It doesn’t take into account the thousands that are being replaced at HIH and the Philippines.

Morristown NJ has a significant sized workforce. They filled it back up with RTO from what I’ve heard (lots of PSO). There are April and May JE dates on a calendar, but unclear if those are planned dates (ie; if you have to JE someone, those are the dates HR wants you to use) or there are actual people already identified to go. Last round, our mgr let it “slip” that he was given 1 week notice to “select” the person we lost. And sadly they picked the person who did her job and kept two people who barely work now. At this point it’s not an if but a when. Never trust the number they give us, network internally and externally, and keep your resume updated.

The 136 positions on NJ warn list that will be lost are going to be cut in April/May. Don’t believe any number they throw out about layoffs. They will keep letting go whenever they want regardless of what so called number was provided to us.

@b3 Evidently a NJ WARN notice was generated for a May Layoff date according to another thread on this page

Was advised in a meeting that cuts will continue. This is in addition to the 2k and VRP.

No and it will be more than 2k. The 2k number they just threw out doesn’t even include those on the NJ want list that will be gone. They will keep laying off all year and probably every year. Sadly, it’s something that everyone will have to comes to terms with in this sh-t hole.
