Rights of overworked VSP electors

I've heard of managers rushing projects and expecting VSP resources to work extra hours, including weekends. And possibly give up use-or-lose PTO. What rights do workers have in this situation? Is there any point in reaching out to HR? Or a lawyer?

In one of the VSP webinars, they said that managers may reject the 2026 floating holiday hours and that it would be case specific.

@3e2 whatever you do don't forget about your one and half days of 2026 floating holiday time you get to use before Jan 9.

I have two weeks to go, and they are working me like a dog. Ready for this saga to be over. :-)

HR is useless so do not waste your time or your energy going that route.HRBPs are puppets, unresponsive, and not the brightest bulbs in the pack.Just look at their leadership of Renita and Angela.

@de half of my team is on the verge of burnout (or past it), and the other half are twiddling their thumbs, wondering if they're next on the chopping block. I think a lot of us are at the "choose your hard" level of trying to tough it out, or putting yourself back out on the (currently horrendous) job market.

Doubt I’m the only one, but I’m so overworked from the VSP associates leaving that it’s actually dreadful to log on every morning. I’m tasked with work that’s out of my wheelhouse and of course no additional pay for doing more, even though for 15 years Ive been an ‘exceeds’ associate. How can they expect anyone who was already doing more to do even more? And at what expense? Knowledgeable staff is gone and the clueless associates left aren’t and haven’t been doing bare minimum. If we were union this would never fly. Everything is for our ‘members’ however they’re clueless to the chaos this company has created and the mess that BP left behind. We’re all exhausted at this point.

just say no. What are they going to do, fire you?

I'm not saying refuse to work - but I am saying there's no reason to go above and beyond at this point. And there is sure as heck no reason to lose PTO.
