Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I’m really worried about Ford at this point

The people who could actually make a difference are the ones being let go, while executives keep making the same mistakes and rewarding themselves. The board should be stepping in, but it feels like no one’s paying attention. It’s exhausting to watch a company with so much potential get mishandled over and over.

@j8
I have used the Mean Girls analogy many times related to my last org, so maybe I was in that org too, or maybe there are many orgs in the company with mean girls.

@dd We must have been in the same org.

Now up to 152 recalls and still some time left. I just doesn't seem possible.

@ar
The decisions the board has made warrant more than just resignations. Who goes ba--s-to-the wall with a product for which the infrastructure does not exist?! That is only point one of many which can be listed.

@dd It’s not comedy when people previously healthy people are hospitalized overnight and left with lifelong medical consequences. Calling that satire is deflection, not humor.

@d7 I felt like I was in the movie mean girls. It didn’t feel like real life, more like a comedic dry humor satire tv show of an overly stereotyped interpretation of what middle school was like for someone bullied in the 60s. I’d rather work for The Paper

There are a lot of nasty people working here now, we-ponizing procedure that leads to real harm then try to blow it off as well, it was a small issue... Assumptions by management and the snarky comments are disgusting, some of these people should be in prison, back in the day we called them integrity issues, now it's just standard operating procedure. On HR, yep, there are some that are pretty nasty - turning non issues into real liability - but there are good ones too, that actually help, same goes for management - unfortunately these people are getting rare as time goes on. What a bunch of nonsense this site is.

I'd rather worry about my family. Ford is doomed.

@ah Really? I heard there were ZERO LL+s being let go. That makes YOUR statement a lie. My bad. You are an LL+.

They want RTO-5 so dearly, they can have a workforce of no-other-option empty bootlickers who do little more than meet that requirement. Fine by me...

"The board is beholden to someone or some entity other than its shareholders." So true. In the past, execs got fired or demoted if a vehicle came in over Weight even. The 90's t-bird came in overweight and cost and wasn't a BMW fighter like they claimed it was gonna be (with all that cheezy plastic?) and that guy was Gone. Bill Ford's a swell guy but he needs to retire and then maybe a person can clean house like Hank2 did in the 50s or whenever it was. How could it be any worse than what they've done?! Any regular reader or writer of Autopian could do a better job as a Ford exec it seems.

Exhausting but very interesting. This is the best failing multibillion dollar corporate drastupidity drama I have ever witnessed. Stupidity and complete ignorance in the top ranks and nothing but cowardly nodders/bobble heads who agree with any and all poor decisions just for a paycheck because they know no other company in there right mind would hire them else they would truly leave of their own accord. Pathetic. Pass the popcorn my way please.

Ford’s massive mistake was bringing hatchet man in vs Hinrichs being elevated. This is also why they have the narcissist CEO Farley as well. BOD should resign in Shame after they fire Farley. Bill needs to retire to his F150 Lightening empty plant, what a waste of money.

No worries. Ford will be just fine. Ford is letting go of non value added employees. This is good for the company.
