I got fired for coffee badging. And I know I'm not alone. Cheaper to fire us than lay us off. Not even any sort of reprimand or PIP. They just went straight to "You're fired!"

I have read the policy and it is not clear how long you are to be in the office. At managers discretion is subjective since HR doesn't care if your manager is ok with how long you stay. Some get terminated for cause, some get formal warnings and others get a simple "coaching" email from management despite everyone doing the same exact thing. All they had to do is call a meeting with certain groups and explain the expectations and everyone would comply. Instead they are heartless corporate je-ks that only care about themselves.
@h9 yall dont already have that?!
Most of the non Waterloo offices get anything. At best they do one overly fancy coffee machine (that just *ss blasts tea so those su-k).
If you guys dont already have that - most of these office are going to be a shared dry pain. We're not getting nice new things with OT as it is now.
What numbers of hours required to be on the safe side? Any idea?
Put a free Tim Hortons in the Waterloo office and people will stay longer. management needs to do something to invigorate and renew energy, otherwise all forcing people back in the office does is make employees angry and less productive. Ayman wake up an smell the coffee.
@h4 too close buddy, too close
@d5 were you a network engineer ?
@cs there's nothing fraudulent about it. The work gets done, the badge gets swiped, that's what they asked for, that's all they should get. No one is more creative or productive sitting in an office on Teams calls. No one is being defrauded when someone reports to the office and completes their work from home.
@cs This is technically true. I will say that there is nuance when it comes to the situations people are in.
Regardless, one of my main reasons for posting was to let folks know that they are skipping straight to firing people. They're gathering evidence in advance and then just going through all of the required steps they have to go through before they terminate you.
If you think there's a chance you could be found guilty of this, stop now. But, it might already be too late.
Coffee Badging is insubordination. They created the policy to be back in the office, and you feel it shouldn't apply to you. Sorry, It's a sh_t sammich that you have to eat. But by doing that, you asked to be fired.
If you just ate the "L" and went to the office and at least simulated work, maybe you'd have gotten a package.
I'm no fan of OT's dopey policies. But this is fraud-lite.
@c8 Are you tarded?
There is no badge out in Alpharetta GA, and HR is definitely investigating using cameras, badge in, and informants.
I don’t believe you.
They are looking for any excuse to fire people
when you said coffee badging? when do you badge in and out? how many days do you go to office?
@OP+1kpyep9xa Dave is that you? Which office you from?
