Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Package

What does the package normally consist of?

I’ve heard rumors of 2 weeks per year of service.

STI

Cobra insurance.

I can’t change what’s happening but I can plan.

@cn+1k8rsgz6w then something has changed because they used to vest anything that was granted regardless of where it was in the vesting cycle.

@A2+1

I don't believe it includes VZ health insurance for the number of weeks of your severance. That was offered as part of VSP, but I don't think that's part of a standard RIF. You roll off the health insurance on your last day of work.

@a5 LTI's will only vest the current years, Anything that will vest next year and after is lost. Sorry but that is documented on the HR site.

Why in the ever loving he-l does this same question always come up when the answer is always the same?!?! Look it up yourself, it hasn't changed, ever. If you can't do that basic search, which is faster than starting this thread.... you cannot be helped.

A few people in Tulsa are going around the office looking to form a union. I told them to hurry and I would enlist if they got 100 people. I am not sure what the dues would be upfront but they seem to think we could get that back with longer negotiations. OK is a right to work state but they said with enough people it would overcome that. Has anyone else been approached and would a union protect us?

Yes, it also includes STI (if eligible) and accelerated vesting of any outstanding Stock Together.

Two weeks usually but I have a feeling things will be different this time. Dan S is supposedly not known for giving severances, and kinda makes sense for the timing of his arrival just before if/when all this goes down.

It's typically two weeks of pay for each year you've been with the company, with a maximum of 35 weeks, paid out in a single lump sum. It also includes health insurance for the number of weeks you're paid.
