Can anyone confirm the 2Q VSP rumor?

Layoffs . VSP didn’t get enough takers the last time . Missed the mark .
If I only had a crystal ball back when the last VSP was offered. There will be no VSP offered anymore. This is how they will be doing it from now on.
@ex You VSPers presided over the stagnation of the company. They should have fired you losers for cause.
@jd more VSPs will come. Likely every 5 years. Only way to remove the high pay with all the time. Its worth it for verizon. If some take it with less years even better for verizon. Less payout.
@ex Thanks for the response and I agree.
Yes, I can confirm it's a rumor.
How many times were you warned in 2024, if you do not volunteer for the VSP and you get laid off afterwards, then you get no VSP ? There were so many warnings given, Id be surprised if there ever is a VSP offered in the next 10 years.
@b7 people use it like " RIF'd" as a stand in for " laid off"
AI will take jobs year after year. Replacing you and me. Verizon will offer VSPs to match this trend.
@b9 What was the hard lesson learned?
They learned a hard lesson after the last VSP. No more of those
@a3 just a friendly FYI … It’s RIF (reduction in force), not RIFT
@ar vsp will come around again in 5 years. It's the legal way to remove the high engineer and tech rollers which are up in age and some management. Even if 2+k take it. That's big money.
Dont expect VSP. expect to get severance, possibly even leaner severance than what it being offered now
I sincerely doubt they would offer VSP ever again. Terminating 13k plus employees in one wave with only severance right before the holidays with little backlash, is the new cheaper way to save money for them.
Fake hope....
Everyone knows they are going to offer a vsp. Just hater’s responding here
I had an AD tell me the same thing. It would be odd after they just let so many go.
VSP's are too EXPENSIVE, so RIFT's will prevail going forward.
Besides with a VSP you can say NO, with a RIFT the company decides
@OP That's all it is; a rumor. VSP days are over. It's layoff season in full now
