Has anyone had success asking for a larger salary or extra bonus outside of the annual performance review? Since it's this company I'm guessing no but I figured I would ask.

Mine has been sitting for months, after several outreaches still nothing. No follow up, no email, nothing.
In our division it is based on favoritism and what will please various leaders. It is not based on merit or someone earning it.
@d1 the best raise is usually getting a new job somewhere else
Even in good times its tough. Als comp band are so wide they dont want to give you anything for lateral moves. Agree that you have to be doing great work/projects withe your mgr's mgr since they need approval. Most mgrs here dont go out of their way to help good employees unless the are great boot lickers too. They just want to coast to retirement
You need to quit then reapply for your old job to get the higher salary.
It's not impossible but certain factors have to be in your favor (manager relationship + a VP who has the juice)
Remember that they factor any amount given off cycle into the following years comp review. I would advise you to push for a title change or the raise as it would give your leader more room to make your case. If nothing happens, go look on the jobs portal and use that case building you did for a raise to jump to a new title (raise more likely depending on grade level, 13 to a 16 as an example).
Generally won't happen. I've asked before after getting a new degree to help in the field I'm in. They said they only factor that in during the regular review cycle. They will also give you the lowest amount possible for any increase.
Good luck. I know of requests that have been sitting over a year.
In these times, that’s like asking to be let go.
