Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Anyone got the W2 yet?

First year it is yet to be made available when the deadline is the 31st.
This company just can’t do anything right.

@k6 depending on where you live, for example, NYC (90 day non-working notice) Tampa/Irving (60 day non-working notice) THEN you will get the severance letter after that "as soon as humanely possible". I have heard from others that were RIF'ed that it is supposed to take 1 to 2 pay cycles but people have been waiting months. Someone who was termed in September just got their severance in January. Sad, terrible news but be prepared for a delay.

@kv was rated a 4 for the first time in a long career. I know that even some people with 1/2/3 ratings got RIF'd in January but a 4 seems like a guarantee of RIF in March or whenever the next wave is. I've heard that managers had to rank 10% or such of their staff as 4, no exceptions allowed. What I can't figure out is why bother rating 10% as a 4 if they are also RIF'ing 1/2/3s. Will the 4s be treated differently than the 1/2/3s. A friend who holds a senior position at one of the other big banks (not Citi) says 4s at his bank are not allowed to be classified as 'termination of position'. This allows his bank to not give them severance since severance is tied to restructuring. Citi's 'separation pay policy' does say it's a response to restructuring. Another friend who works in HR in another industry says 'the purpose of the 4 is to not give you a bonus and to hope you'll leave quickly on your own.' I hope that's all it is.

@k6 Specifically, what makes you think you will be RIF'd ?

@be Can those of you who were RIF'd please advise when and what severance terms were offered? I expect to be RIF'd in March. I've read the 'Citi separation pay plan' document (which was just updated and posted on Citi's intranet on 1/21) very carefully. It says at one point: "If you are eligible for benefits under the Plan, you'll be notified in writing of your benefits. If you don't receive such a notice within 60 days after your employment is terminated ...." 60 days?! I would have thought that you get notified of any severance benefits during a one-on-one with HR as soon as you get notified you're being RIF'd.

@OP I was RIF'ed 1/16/26, today is 1/29/26 still have not received my W-2, hopefully it will be here tomorrow or Saturday. A little worried as we don't have access to Workday and I remember seeing several alerts asking us to switch to electronic delivery only - which I didn't. Whoever was RIF'ed and got theirs: Was it via USPS, regular mail? Thanks.
