Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I'm so, so done with this place

Every morning I have to talk myself into staying one more day.

Now 1 min of severance for each year of service, so 30 years is 30 min of pay with 50% held for taxes

@fx this applies to US employees only.

@fx heard the severance policy will be reduced before the layoffs in October. Cash is tight, would be surprised if they give any severance.

Imagine how swagging Steve B would be right to swaggering if we were at $4.75 right now.

Hey, relax guy! The stock went up 12 cents today so take a rest! Reinvention totally working. So much winning. Soon you’re gonna be tired of all the winning. Have a cup of java. Look over there. You need a rest fella. Take a load off guy!

Last I knew severance max'd out at 12 weeks, at least for most of us. Long ago it was 2 weeks per year of service, then 1.5 weeks (I think) per year of service, then 1 week per year of service. But then they said F it, 12 weeks max.

@d1 they are changing I am sure. They can't afford them to be more than legally required anymore.

Finally… a few more survivors from the Titanic. Welcome aboard. 🛳️

Xerox is like the North Sea at 29 degrees water temperature. 🌊.
It’s as cold as the managements attitude.

I'm curious what the severance offer is these days.

Wait until 10/15 for a small severance.

I stayed until I was retired as I liked the people and work, and I had plenty of unsolicited offers from other companies.

If you wake up every day dreading it, it's time to put your resume out. When the time comes, and it likely will, they won't hesitate to tell you goodbye.

Speaking of the “Tech Powerhouse “ having to work with the horrible Java UI is painful enough 🤮

The only reason I'm still here is the lousy job market.

This plus someone still at the tech power house has an irrelevant skill-set - non-transferable.

Took me a year and roughly 200 applications but I’m finally in the running for 2 excellent positions.
