@e8 nope, that there is a shrink process, that wafer started out at 300mm
@cx They heard that wafer scale devices on 2nm were the next big thing, so they figured out how to make a wafer scale 2nm transistor.
As you can imagine, there are no photos of them in a bunnysuit, holding the wafer (like some id--t).
The tools for this process are really, really small.
Did they steal from Intel technology? Maybe that is why Intel is struggling for many years now
I don't believe OP thinks the wafer is 2nm wide.
Intel has been struggling in past ten years, and could not do 5nm, 3nm yet.
Maybe Indian can do better than Intel.
@aw Customers for fabs are chip designers, not end users - so to sell them domestically they would not only need to replace TSMC, but also Nvidia, AMD and Qualcomm at the same time.

Why india need to sell it ? India’s gdp comes from its own consumption like 70% so they are self sufficient
China's been working on advanced chip manufacturing for over a decade, and they are still struggling to launch 5 nm node. Good luck India with going straight to 2 nm...
