Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Performance Management 2026

Anyone else feel like this is taking an illegal turn of directions? Constructive discharge and hostile work environments? Instead of just laying people off the normal way, we’ve turned into this…. I hope that everyone affected will utilize their benefits and protect their mental and physical health. Crazy what is going on after the last few years. I guess this is our reward for being loyal to the company.

Nothing illegal to have a bad boss and micromanaging you take away your benefits no promotions minimal raises RTO. stacked ranking with management getting to dictate criteria based on their bias. Sh---y work environment absolutely legal.

Waiting for AI to take out management. Middle management just turn themselves into ICs. The ICs do not want to be in the fab sweating. Robots cannot pick grass. Good luck.

Lame fab jobs that already are close to lights out with automation. Unskilled badges can watch the floor and call vendor support while engineers can watch ops and metro every wafer in and out steps. Lights out be ready to go fishing or hunting in the next seasons life.

@vp
Yes, I am. I planned for the future and can leave anytime I wish.
Do I have to work at Intel?? No. I like the work and the people and I do not need to chase the paycheck. Stress comes and goes but never gets too bad.

While not perfect, I am content.

At-Will employment.
Life is risk. Risk earns reward.

If you want safety in a job, go find a union and hope they don't sc--w you over. Or move to Europe and give most your income to the Govt foe the safety net.

I prefer to be free.

Dude? Your brokest countries are in Asia. Read CHINA. But yes. Just about everyone has debased their currency to the point where the great reset will soon arrive if the trajectory doesn’t change, and US fails in its current breakaway move

"They are still owners of the company and the Intel has a fiduciary responsibility to them."

That is some pristine gobbledygook.
Doesn't a company sell a product and pay its employees with the sale.
When did this third party come into play.
It appears parasitical.

If you want to use a vague term like 'fiduciary responsibility',
then the 'owners' have a fiduciary responsibility to pay down the US debt of
39 trillion.

Corruption Management 2026

All insights/focals is a game & politics.
If your manager dont like you, you got BE.

If your manager suspect that you gave him bad MFT, you got BE.

If you are yes-man and brown nose, you got EE.

Thats the way it is at FAB28 - ISRAEL.

@ct what is your point? The vast majority of investors have no loyalty to the companies they invest in. They will sell on the first sign of a problem. They have loyalty to their own needs. They are still owners of the company and the Intel has a fiduciary responsibility to them. Most senior managers have no loyalty either. Very few have been with the company for very long. The days of people working their way up through the ranks is essentially gone. Employees ruined the benefits of loyalty and seniority by using it as an excuse to be lazy. When I went through NEO in 2000 they told us we were responsible for our own employability, AKA, If you don't stay relevant you don't stay employed. This got watered down over the years along with a lot of the old values and look at Intel now. The more senior you get you better be really delivering quality relevant work because you cost far more than an RCG. This isn't usually the case. It is a tough job market out there and it will get profoundly more difficult over the next few years.

@av I’ve been fully devoted. I was a tech for 9 months engineer for 4 years and got 2 promotions. People don’t work that hard. I dominate them. So I guess keep going with this attitude? Easy for me to climb past you.

OP, if you think being loyal to a company is ever going to pay off you are sadly mistaken. This isn't just Intel either. Put yourself in their shoes for a minute. Would you pay you the amount of compensation you get for the work you do? Could you find someone who can do your work the same or better for less? More important in the next few years will be can the work you do be done better and cheaper by software or a machine? If the bulk of the work you do is on a screen get ready to be replaced. I am not trying to be an a$$, I am being realistic. The world is on the verge of changing really fast and it won't be going back to the old ways. You can either be prepared or be one of the sheeple.
