Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana can't afford the ERP payouts

If you are waiting for your exit date, you will be left waiting. Humana is stalling for time while they try to liquidate the funds to pay out the ERPs. If they file for bankruptcy, you get nothing. If they sell or merge, you get nothing. Anyone they can term, you get nothing.

Good luck getting out of this h*llhole until you are no longer useful to their benefit. It's one lie upon the previous lie with Humana.

Why post something like this? Even if they filed bankruptcy this minute the erp package is a liability that would get paid. Dont try to spread fear and uncertanty when too many are feeling overwhelmed as it is.

Anyone still working go to workday and see all the H1-B jobs that are posted. Pretty pathetic our tax dollars paying for them to eliminate seniors and hire offshore and for MORE $$ than they offer for the same position. Anyone else think this is BS?

@OP after seeing the list RB posted today… they probably can’t make payroll after those payouts!

The week before Christmas, everyone who took the ERP — plus a few who got the workforce reduction “holiday special” — will be gone. By January 2026, contracts will swoop in to fill most of the jobs, like new toys replacing the old ones under the tree.

@hd I’m sorry they’re giving you the run around! Your role must be mission critical to force you to stay through open enrollment. Some roles are too valuable to allow you to leave without some sort of plan. I guarantee you the folks that are going to be left over are going to be crying through the holidays because departments are gonna not allow people to take time off. Couldn’t agree with you more though because if they want you all out then you should be allowed to leave

@bv The committee s*cks if they are the one who decides our exit date. I want out of here. I didn't sign up for the ERP to be held hostage for months with no exit date given at all. Once again, Humana plowed headfirst into a path that they did not yet have a plan for. You wanted us go, so let us go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course Humana can afford — open enrollment season coming ! The leaves are falling, the flu shots are flying, and Humana’s marketing department is working overtime to remind you that your health matters most.

But here’s the real beauty of the season: for a few glorious weeks, every employee is a valuable, irreplaceable member of the team. After all, who else is going to convince customers to sign up for plans where the deductible is just low enough to feel affordable but high enough to fund an executive’s golf membership?

Of course, once enrollment closes and the numbers are in. That’s when Humana can finally do what’s best for their health — trimming the “excess weight” from payroll. Don’t worry, though — this isn’t wasteful. In fact, it’s tax-efficient! Because in the U.S., severance packages are considered deductible as business expenses. That means your sudden unemployment is actually helping Humana lower its taxable income. Congratulations — you’re part of the company’s financial wellness plan!

Idk about this…seems to me it depends on several factors. Your job, department, etc. they are constantly changing their direction, or appears to be, anyway. I really think people aren’t getting their exit dates because they are needed right now/may be. Not saying it’s right but the job still has to get done.

@OP I was told I would know early September and now they are not telling us until October, or who knows. Definitely something is up

I know someone who requested November, but approved September. So requests are entered, but decisions and approvals are made by the committee.

Many have already received their date. What department are you in that you did not receive yours yet? What is HR saying?
