Wipro contract renegotiation fallout

Is anyone else losing a bunch of offshore resources, due to the renegotiation of the contract with Wipro? We're losing six people at the end of the month, as a result of it.

@cm We had to train the Wipro developers to use Copilot instead of writing their own code because of how bad they were.

And they still took ages to work on simple features. Need a new button somewhere that calls some pre-existing API endpoint / functionality? 3 days to implement and get a PR out, and has race condition problems.

Something that takes a regular developer maybe like an hour at most.

So the person that wrote Wipro lied. That’s common for that company. I worked at another company about 10 years ago and they outsourced to them. Same exact thing. They knew nothing, lied about everything, couldn’t do the work we trained and trained until we just had to do the extra work with less people because they laid the real workers here off. The management only wanted to hear good. Wouldn’t hear bad things. Their bonuses were paid to successfully outsource. Got it! Be prepared!

No loss if true.

We are losing Wipro contractors too. The problem is it's not like they are going to hire US-based employees to replace them. We are just down that many more people, which then overloads the remaining team members, that much more.

OH and OI had major customers indicate this year they aren’t renewing 2027. Expect major layoffs this spring and summer as those programs and all related products and apps are sunset.

Doing business with UHG now is like staring in an adult movie. No serious company renews. The rest want us in autopilot on costs until they can notice us a termination.

Idk about any of the other teams but ours had a tremendously bad experience with them. Completely lied about their abilities to a ridiculous extent, couldn't solve basic problems, took very long to write simple code that we always had to rewrite anyways because of how bad it was.

Absolutely disastrous, I wonder if someone was getting kickbacks to let Wipro do this to us.
