Had a feeling it was coming

@cc those invites (Org changes that impact your role.) typically mean you are staying this round but your team is getting hit (someone else laid off).
No, it's actually a very common term both in the industry and here at wells. Not sure why it's such a point of insecurity.
for all those commenting on "The Firm" - those of us who use that term are mocking the higher ups who've used that term before.
@cp
My experience was the same. Lost ability to send external email. I don't print things, so that was not something I'd check.
All connectivity cut by 10:42ish.
Interestingly, even though I was still part of the bank, for my 60 day non-working notice, they even cut my training from Pluralsight and A Cloud Guru at the same time.
I think its disgusting what is taking place - started shortly after Shart showed up.
@cx Must have been nice to get to look your team in the eye for two weeks and pretend everything was normal, while you knew they were goners. If you ask me, absolutely all of you got what you deserved.
Sorry, I must not have made it clear. I had about a month’s notice on displacements to my team, so my boss set up a call a few weeks in advance of me letting my two people know under the guise of “how did it go.” Yes, she’s a snake. Karma is a bi--h, as she was displaced toward the end of last year.
@cc this is the exact language my displacement email from HR uses
@cp Mine was actually set up the Friday before. It was just a shift in my one on one to Tuesday @ 10am. I had the pleasure of getting to worry about it all weekend and all of Monday.
@cd That's fu---n evil. What a coward.
@c1 It's every LOB and group. All the time. Every 2 weeks. No one is safe.
@cg Can’t believe the down votes on your post. Wells Fargo Firm? Wells Fargo Bank Firm. Not a firm.
@c4 nope, not always. My meeting invite was received at 11:30pm the night before. When I arrived that morning my printing and external email (to send) was cut off. 5 min meeting at 10am (I already knew immediately when I logged in and saw invite) where mgr read from a script. Access to all systems cut by 10:45.
They can and will schedule as they want.
@ch And then everyone clapped
@ce Yup lol- of course it's the looney obsessed with the term "the firm"
@cd eh?
"... and he set up a call with me later that morning to “see how it went”... ...My call had been on the calendar for about 2 weeks.."
@cd that’s a new low.
Update: displaced, regular severance and notice period. 20+ years with more than 50% exceeds ratings over the years. It's a business decision, nothing personal, I wasn't a big fan of BE anyway. My manager was as upset about it as I was, although their position is probably going the same way in the near future. Going to take my time to update skills, get in better shape, and figure sh!t out. Good luck folks, I'm outta here!
@cf
pssst.... Wells Fargo is not a 'firm'
i was displaced in Sept and got my meeting notice the day before, so yes, it does happen.
im happy/sad for you, OP
happy you are released from the toxic sh--e-hole that is WF but sad you have to find another gig in this SUPER bad job market right now. especially finding a gig where you'll make the money you do at wells.
we were grossly overpaid on our team and we all knew it ;)
it took me a year almost exactly to find ANYTHING and took the first thing offered - for less than half of what i was making at The Firm. however, that is my fault for not upskilling whilst i worked for The Firm. hopefully you will be in a better situation, but definitely DONT WAIT to start looking.
may the odds ever be in your favor
The crazy guy spamming upvotes on this post pretty much confirms its bs.
I was displaced about a year ago. Manager had me displace two of my employees and he set up a call with me later that morning to “see how it went” when it was to displace me. My call had been on the calendar for about 2 weeks. So yes, there are some serious sc-mbags at WF
My team received emails yesterday talking about ‘Org changes that impact your role.’ Staggered 30 min meetings today from 11:30 to 1:30. Doesn’t look great
It's a little hard to believe that someone would get a normal meeting invite and run to post about it on this forum used by like 30 posters.
More than likely it's just the troll who loves to stoke every fear-provoking rumor he can
@c8 depends on the manager. some have been making the meetings well in advance, moving 1:1s, or setting them up the day before.
@c5 It's almost like OP is lying
Tech, 200 souls approx. 50 in data
@c4 They usually dont give you that much warning. Usually the meeting is scheduled 15 minutes before.
@OP They usually give you that much warning. Usually the meeting is scheduled 15 m
This post are useless without knowing the LOB or group
Location Strategy Update with my manager this morning. Dun dun dun. Will see what kind of fu-kery awaits me.
Me too, first ever IM rating at year end review.
Definitely take some time, then start pounding the road. Pros and cons
Mine was at 8:30 am. Lean in. Best thing you can do. You will see after it happens. You’ll wonder why you waited so long. The answer is severance. Which you earned.
Congratulations, or nah? Depending on how much severance you get, maybe take a few weeks to recenter, but don't dilly dally too long looking for something else. The white collar job market is in a recession, basically.
