Pay cut for WFM

Last week I formally sent an offer to HR and copied it to my L3. My offer is this, I will accept a 50% reduction in pay in exchange for permanent WFM. This is due to multiple family and personal issues. Should have an answer by Tuesday.

@d8 There are no job accommodations for family-related issues.

Employees may take FMLA, if eligible, to care for a qualifying family member. They may also request a family care leave of absence. However, neither option is paid, and neither qualifies as a job accommodation.

Under the ADA, job accommodations apply only to the employee’s own medical condition, typically when FMLA is unavailable, exhausted, or the employee is ineligible.

@gq "AT&T pay is at the bottom of the industry, surprisingly paired with undesirable 5 day RTO."

Lol.

Go interview with other telcos and cable companies and report back.

I got an engineering offer for Uniti at 55k/yr.

...please

@db , once the economy collapses, we’ll all be lucky to afford a cardboard box to reside.

@db that’s all he can afford based on what they pay here. Bottom of the market.

@OP
There are job accommodations that cover family medical issues. You have to apply for them and provided documentation as why they are necessary. JA's have an expiration date, at which time you need to restate the need and proof or return to normal duty.

JA's can include variable hours and schedules, WFH, and other variances. You will need to provide full documentation to the company and approval is not automatic.

The better option is to shift to part-time employment status until you are able to meet office requirements for your job.. Many managers have done this in the past. This will allow you to have more time to focus on family without compromising work expectations.

“I would gladly take a 10% pay cut to WFH. RTO costs more than that anyway.”
Was anyone asking you for schedule change ideas?

“This is due to multiple family and personal issues.”

Sounds like you really need extra monitoring to ensure you come to the office to focus on work.
