@2s6 Mortgage was a high risk, mostly unprofitable business. Now it's an acceptable risk, mostly unprofitable business. Fact is that we are still too bloated/inefficient to compete effectively in the industry for the majority of the market (non jumbos)

@ag you are correct. I believe layoffs are no longer due to the asset cap, nor due to the company’s poor performance, but the layoffs now are to pay for all the AI development.

Mindless entertainment and distraction from what's really going on. What's the point?

If productivity software or an AI were to monitor the productivity of these events, the organizers and participants would have been laid off years ago.

These THs have been void of any meaningful information and 100% performative for the last couple of years at least. Focus has been on Favorite desserts, our CAO's upcoming vacation plans to Japan and Morocco, and a bunch of other softball questions.

Good lord - questions now about the pins people are wearing and a woman yelling while trying to explain it

@a8 the company's success seems to have almost no bearing on whether people keep their jobs or not. If anything the layoffs have gotten worse and worse in direct relationship with the stock price going up and the company resolving their regulatory problems. I can't be the only one actively rooting for some big scandal to blow up and put the c-suite on their heels a bit. This company was a much better place to work when the CEO ran a constant risk of getting hauled in front of a congressional committee

If this guy is not just the most punchable guy ever I don’t know who is (maybe Charlie). I wonder how many in that room know they won’t be at the bank at the end of the year?

True that people want the company to succeed, but we also want some assurance we aren’t going to get laid off!
