Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Leadership is actively trying to make us leave on our own

The stricter RTO is just part of it. Eternal reorganization, months of uncertainty about what’s coming for each of us - that’s another layer. Teams are in chaos, handling workloads meant for far more people. Managers seem completely oblivious to anxious, restless, overworked, burnt-out employees. It’s all either by design or sheer disregard for the workforce. Either way, it might come back to bite them, as the best people are always the first to leave.

4 days in office started for psg 26+ in 2025 and begins for everyone in 2026. Hybrid is done. Remaining high performers will leave for more flexible schedules if they haven't already taken severance. It's one thing after another. The last gasps of a company grasping at reinventing itself to stay relevant.

4 days RTO announced 2H selection plus San Ramon relocation not shared. All this is ploy for folks to resign voluntarily and will save severance and relocation cost. I heard San Ramon relocation will happen early 2026 and be done by end of 2026. For the SR employees assuming it will happen later and have no intention of relocating are definitely gambling. HR knows more resignations will happen after relocation announcement .

OP , they are not going to get rid of me by making my job miserable. I am going to cling on like a barnacle on ship’s hull. :)

You are wrong engine worker, the person got layed off because Chevron is outsourcing US jobs to low cost countries where people are willing to work for less money. I believe you envy Americans and the Indian people that have moved to the USA for the premium lifestyle we have over living in India.

@ce you got laid off or jettisoned because you are stale, pale, and male…and HR is laughing all the way to the bank…

Got laid off in June after 20 years. Was bitter at first, but every day I come here to read how much more of a sh-t hole Chevron has become, and I feel grateful every day that I got laid off.

I’ve been enjoying my fat severance and considering my next options.

The one thing that sustained me every day, though is the happiness that I never have to deal with Chevron‘s bullsh-t again.

Very disappointing to experience managers who were normal before start to behave like a--holes to align to MW’s new tough guy persona.

I personally witnessed someone bi--hing about some output and assign blame to the people who produced it without so much as a thank you after we spent several days of 12 to 15 hours to deliver it on time and with constantly changing expectations. I can’t get into all the details because they would make it obvious which group this is, but I truly and disgusted by the bad behavior I experienced.

To the POS manager who ripped us a new one, go fu-k yourself. I hope what you’re doing to us comes back to you tenfold, you miserable pr--k.

The z generation hard workers are showing signs of chronic fatigue and expect them to have health related maladies. They won’t retire at 65…If they can make 55 it will be a miracle
