If MW and company want to continue destroying morale and this company then if anyone out there is still working hard for Chevron should stop now. Put in the bare minimum. If we have to go into the office 4 days a week, then no late night or early morning meetings with India. S crew them. Collect your paycheck and do nearly anything else. For those saying "have a work ethic and self respect", having self respect is taking back your time and life from a company who obviously hates its employees so the right thing to do is bare minimum work!

The only reason to work hard for Chevron is to put a shine on your résumé. The sooner you get out, the better it will be for your career and sanity.
@cf you are probably right.
With the new PMP and only two ranking categories, there’s no differentiation for working above and beyond now either. Couple that with “management directives” to only rank Meets Expectations, why bother.
Just slack off like all the other lazy pricks and watch the company continue to go down the gurgler. Yay.
@ce maybe the ELT should be worried about AI being used on them. I’m guessing we’d have way better results with ELT-Bot steering the ship.
CVX uses AI to monitor their workforce, so if you choose that direction, also be looking for another job. Because they have waged war on all of us and the best idea, is to leave them to their own vices.
@c4 this comment sounds like something management would say.
You are only cheating yourself by not working to your potential. These are probably trolls from another energy company posting. If you don’t like where you work, take the skills and experience you have and move to another company.
I worked there 20 years and got laid off in June.
I am proud of the fact that I never once worked on one of my 9/80 off days and I never worked more than 40 hours a week.
I learned early on in my career never to work more than as necessary because at the end of the day your company doesn’t care about you.
I feel sorry for those poor ba----ds that worked 60 to 80 hours a week and still got laid off.
I feel I came out ahead.
They’ve totally destroyed all the good will they had in long term employees doing the right thing “for the company”. The company used to show genuine care (well, corporate care at least) for the employees (and employees recognized that and would go above and beyond to do the right thing in response) but that went out the window around 2019 and has been getting exponentially worse. It went from a relatively equal give and take to just a one way street enforced by threat of punishments and empty self care language rather than actually giving a sh-t.
The above and beyond is what made us great and they’ve sold that out for some short term returns with consequences yet to be realized.
We have to do worse, for them to go. 40hrs only.
