Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

How long do you have to be in your current position before you can apply internally again?

Been with the company for 5 year, first 4 1/2 years in the same role. Applied internally for another role and got the job 6 months ago. I see another role that I think is a better fit for me, am I allowed to apply or do I need to stay longer at my current role?

@e8 if you make it past the screening, you get an email that states you are making it to the next round. This email states your manager will get notified at this point, and suggests for you to proactively notify your manager,

@cd

Do they get notified every time you apply or only when you apply and have worked less than 1 year in your current job?

I've changed roles after less than 6 months once. You can apply but your manager will find out being under 12 months. You have to click the button in the application saying you have been in the role less than 12 months. Same if you relocated from another site within last 12 months.

Best to talk to your boss first especially since there is no guarantee you get the offer and don't want to burn a bridge or get put on the short list to be let go when they need to trim down staff.

In the last, it was a year. Not sure if that’s the same rule anymore.
