I continue to hear that all remote, even those with a medical accommodation will be laid off. No longer giving the ultimatum of, either go in, or accept your 60 day notice. I only know one medical accommodation this happened to recently, but I have to hope, that they are pointing to something performance?? Can they do that? Are they offering a chance of RTO first? Or just cleaning house on all remote?

@c2 TBH, I hope you just quit, too.
Let’s face it, the job requirements spell out in-office requirements. A short-term exception is 1 thing. Lacking ongoing capability, well. I think you should just quit.
@b9 your accommodation “got revoked” meaning you didn’t need it anymore and instead of being a decent human and returning to the office, you continued to abuse the system until they forced you back.
in the rare event someone actually needs an accommodation in the future and it gets turned down, well, it’s losers like you they should blame.
go fu-k yourself.
I think it’s fantastic if they’re getting rid of people who refuse to come into work.
The few people I’ve known with accommodations only seem to come in when there is a free meal and/or if there is an event they want to attend that has little to nothing to do with their job.
And they act like they did such a big thing coming in 1 day (they always leave early, too). Pi-s off you lazy b-ms.
Here’s the thing…if you can come in 1 day, you can surely come in 1 day per week.
And if you can do 1 day, you can surely do 2.
And sh-t, if you can do 2, well by God, what’s 1 more?!?!
@eq People with full-time WFH accommodations are usually still required to come into the office for 'special occasions' (your LOB's bigwigs are visiting your city, usually) or if you cannot connect at home and didn't have PTO pre-scheduled (like if your power goes out at home). At least, that's what the folks I know with those accommodations were told.
Accommodation and RTO Location Strategy have nothing to do with one another when it comes to not being in a core location. If you are not in a core or specialty market on the list they you will eventually get a pink slip. Period.
If you are in a core think they will start getting more strict on what constitutes WFH exception.
@bg "DR gives 110% every day." -- What a joke! Even a high school graduate can do her job.
@cd yes there are rules around this and you will get displaced eventually. Accommodation does not exempt you from location strategy. Enjoy it while you can.
@cd you can look it up yourself. You will be laid off at some point. Your manager has no idea what they are talking about.
Hilarious that everyone piles on me for sharing an efficiency. And even funnier that you're like "I'll be glad to lay you off" as if I didn't say I've been wanting that package.
This is why I had to do the whole script (here's a hint @ag, python is a scripting language) maneuver. I have no control over how the data is recorded, or exported. I'm working with what I'm given. If you had a clue about how things work here, you'd realize that is a constant limitation that many tech teams deal with. The silos Charlie and company have enacted are far worse than WFSC ever had.
@c2 If your ADHD impacts your personal life, most likely it will impact your work life and other people's work life. To minimize the negative impact, you had better quit before company fires you.
@bx actually with accommodations you do not need to be within the 40 miles of an office. My manager said there is no rules around this. I have lived in two separate states this year and will continue to move around and stay with family or friends.
@OP if they start laying off everyone with a medical accommodation I feel that would be a pretty easy lawsuit as we are covered under ADA.
@ar I’m WFH for a medical accommodation and I’m much more productive because my medical condition can be triggered by my surroundings. Before I WFH I was missing time almost daily for to illness which would then also affect my personal life. They have made it more difficult to get an accommodation and I’m pretty sure adhd would not be approved. I do feel like they’re making it more difficult and a pain for us to get approved on an annual basis in hopes we will just quit.
@ar what an irresponsible remark. You have no idea what is going on inside someone's head, no idea what kind of challenges they have, or how they might be struggling.
So please, go back to your hole and STFU.
Accommodations and location strategy are in no way related. If you have an accomodation and work from home you MUST live within 40 miles of your site, period. If you don’t, you will be laid off. Having an accomodation does not exempt you from location strategy.
DR gives 110% every day.
@ay Nobody hates her. She is just the biggest joke in Risk. She does not know how to develop a model as a senior modeling manager. Her boss knows she is incompetent and only let her do simple bureau data cleaning work and documentation typo checking work to keep her job. She cannot even manage her personal life (over 50 years old and 300 pounds, no marriage and no kids). Everybody in Risk laughs at her. By laughing at her, people are actually laughing at upper management team.
I had a Medical Accommodation earlier this year and it got revoked which I didn’t mind and was willing to go back to the Office. Starting in 2026 MetLife will now be in charge of medical accommodation which previously lead by the internal WF team which is being deprecated by EOY 25.
why so much hate for this risk person over the last week?
If you are on an accommodation and within 40 miles of a go-forward office, your position will not be eliminated for location strategy, since all accommodations are considered temporary. If/when the accommodation is not renewed for WFH, then the individual would be expected to return to that office. And... your position can also be eliminated for other reasons, the accommodation does not shield you from displacement even if you are near a hub.
If you are on an accommodation and not within 40 miles of a go-forward location, your position can be eliminated for location strategy.
I hope so. If your "disability" is so bad that you have to work at home, you're likely not very productive.
Not to mention all of the BS accommodations for things like "ADHD."
@a8 I’m going to enjoy you being let go for cause with no severance for not being able to feign 8 hrs of work a day.
Really?
@a8 The efficiency you are talking about can be implemented easily using python.
@aa what are you talking about? All I asked about is strategy if anyone heard if all remote was being eliminated. Proud of what?
@a8 your job should be eliminated and the data that is coming in should be engineered to be correct for consumption. The fact that you are proud of not fixing a problem is what is wrong with the bank.
I've been 100% remote for over a decade. I'm too far to be forced into an office, but my team was gutted and parted out to other groups while they kept me. Now I've shown up on a lack-of-activity report.
Stop teasing me with this "I wish all remote were laid off or forced back into the office" cr-p. I welcome the package, especially with the stupid "productivity monitoring" joke that's being used to gauge performance. The reason I appear to not be doing much, is because I'm that worker who took a heavily manual process of downloading a list of thousands of issues, importing it into a workbook, collating and massaging the data, then filtering it to see what's causing us a lot of work, and used copilot to automate the entire flow with a script. Now it's download file, run script, done.
I'm going to laugh (and enjoy my max severance package) if I get laid off for creating exactly the type of efficiency they constantly harp about.
