Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Off topic, but since the powers that be look here…..

Hey anthem, you will not force or coerce me to volunteer to your chosen causes just so you can can get brownie points where ever you are trying to get them….. I volunteer and have for years, the way people are supposed to….. not for credit!

Does offshore volunteer or give back to the communities served? All I see is offshore parties and contests on LinkedIn. If they want this number to increase, stop sending jobs overseas. Those that are left are watching inflation eat into their salaries and savings, while working more to give the perception that overseas labor is just as productive.

Volunteering, while mandated to advertise for them which could be like wearing a target if some nut sees you wearing that after having a claim denied for his elderly mother.

Not like it couldn't happen in this day and age.

Lets go with religious exemption - just like Covid vaccines - worked with that - my religious exemption is the same that was used then. I state I have one - no proof is required- just my statement - "it is not in line with what my religious beliefs are for me to volunteer anywhere other than called to by my church home. All done -

Yes they definitely force people to volunteer and track it. I had a very low paying position when I worked there and had unrealistic expectations to complete an expected number of volunteer hours. Horrible. Not all Elevance employees make big bucks and live well.

I would never donate to PAC either. Only looks out for best interests of company. Not employees. Probably lobby for more ways to cut corners so they can riff more people. Big nope for me. I laugh every time I read the emails sent out about PAC.

@cd your leadership is essentially demanding you volunteer - hope they do that in writing - if not you should "circle back" in an email "just confirming......" so you actually have proof - it may or may not help since HR appears impotent. When are you supposed to do this on your weekend time - since you need to meet your metrics i assume -

@cd Just don't have time to volunteer with all my back and forth travel to the nasty pulse point - for no point. Weekends are for my second job so I can get the he-l out of here

My leadership team is basically demanding we volunteer before the end of the year, which sort of belies the whole "volunteering" thing. It's pretty gross.

The dollars for do-ers program is very nice at least!! I put negativity aside to help my program. (definitely don’t do PAC no matter how many emails they send)
