Parking at 3400 and 2900 Plano offices

Parking at the Plano offices has become increasingly difficult. A new group appears to have moved into the buildings, resulting in a shortage of available parking spaces for everyone. Many employees are now parking improperly, taking up spots outside designated areas, using fire lanes, parking on the grass, occupying EV charging spaces without charging, and even using handicapped spaces. It’s common to see most cars with parking violation notices during lunchtime.

A shuttle operates between the parking lots at 2900 and 3400, allowing employees to park at either location and take the shuttle to their office. However, the shuttle has become ineffective as both parking lots are now filling up. The situation has become quite chaotic.

I hope management addresses this issue and finds a solution soon.

"The majority figured out a way to make it work"

The parking problem is easily resolved. Start 2026 by removing the detractors. They have a negative impact on the productivity of those trying to make a positive contribution.

We do 3 random days in office, and I come in at 8:15. I've never been unable to find parking. I've also been sitting at the same desk every day for 26 months. Some of the complainers are making it more painful than it needs to be, and their pain is self inflicted. The majority figured out a way to make it work.

Maybe carpool? Get to the office earlier?

Can't relate as I work from home. Assigned seating and parking. More of you should try it.

It’s out of control. The real estate folks did a fine job getting supplemental parking at DMN, which has now been taken over by another company which is seemingly unaware of the parking lease. Most likely the lease expired end of year and some genius at T didn’t have a plan B.

Failing to provide adequate parking sure sounds like an actionable employer behavior to me. Until some of you start lawyering up and making the company see some consequences, it will just get worse. Headcount reduction is the only metric they are currently tracking. Getting your car towed is just another strategy to this end, and I bet they are getting kickbacks from the towing company to boot.

@cy so you punish 99% for the faults of the 1% and call it fair? Not the “new normal” just the normal like it was for decades before Covid. You must be new here.

They obviously brought in way too many people to these two buildings. It’s ridiculous and people are now getting tickets from the police. But they still have to come in. Where are they supposed to go? It’s so stupid. They engineer these buildings for 70% capacity and then are shocked when these things occur.

Someone needs to call the fire department. A few visits may fix this.

Your colleagues really ruined it for everyone. Gave them an inch and they took a mile.

Oh and Covid is over. So, naturally, employers brought back to the office.

You really thought WFH was going to be the new normal? 😆 🤣 😂

@cc I have no children and I’ve never played golf in my life. I don’t run any “errands” on weekdays. Maybe this is what you do, but not the majority. Your logic is flawed and your argument is invalid. Anything else?

"TONE DEAF on RTO and not allowing hybrid."

They want people to actually work. Not subsidize your daily errands, childcare and golf during the workday.

Makes no sense why they don't lease the TransAmerica parking lot across the street.

The planning like everything else has been horrible. We always force things without laying out the limitations because the chain of command is to fearful to communicate upwards reality. Hence why our execution plan always fails like clock work no matter what it is (buying has been companies, TMobile Debacle, Gigapower hype and of course now BSSE failing. The board needs to wake up and get rid of Stankey and most of his reports like Legg!! TONE DEAF on RTO and not allowing hybrid. Stankey knows best. Great track record right ???
