I work in IT as a software dev and wonder if I should update my resume to list SAFe Agile experience at USAA? Will future employers think I'm just as useless as the Release Train Engineers, Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters and the rest of the bureaucratic dead weight floating around USAA?

I was in IT and laid off from USAA about 9 months ago. The job market is 80x harder than you think. Plenty of interviews, so many roles just vanish for “budget” reasons.
My advice: don’t get tooo caught up matching keywords, almost no companies actually use those algorithms. Just keep the resume clean and simple and easy to read.
“Safe agile” is very 2019 - sure list it under skills, none of these companies care - nor will it stand out.
You must have some sort of of AI / ML mention in your resume, to even get a recruiter hit.
LinkedIn has flaws, they push the postings the day before they expire- but you’re literally at the bottom of the list. My massive switch was to start targeting 10 companies I want to work for, check their website every morning, and be the first to apply. When I started doing this I actually started getting calls.
USAA is legit not a flex. No one knows our company.
@hj incorrect. If you are an exec, you'll get hired. It is 8 to 1 hiring outside execs to internal promotion.
Take advantage of the transition services that are available to employees being laid off. The resume piece is really good, with multiple people reviewing your resume for content and structure.
@cb+1k4h42st7: You must be one of the lousy managers that are close to being laid off. Good riddance to you and yours.
I just applied for the same job title in which I was laid off from a year ago and I already received the "Dear John" letter from USAA that I do not meet the minimum qualifications for this job.
Seriously USAA? It seems like its a cult and no outsiders are welcome.
IDK was working on the bank side and I was literally laughed at because of my USAA experience by a hiring maanger for a large bank in London. If you plan on going to one of the bigger places they def dont respect this cr-p on your resume.
In order to get anywhere close to an interview you have to get past the AI gatekeeper software so put everything down that is requested by the job requirements.
If the job you're applying puts has it in the job description you can put it. Usually not a major requirement for a software dev
Thanks for keeping it positive. You must be fun at parties.
Everyone thinks the other person is a deadweight deadwood in corporate america. Everyone thinks Executives are deadweight yet they make in one month what a coupe of developers make in a year together. The number of executives is increasing.
Workers think managers are deadweight and they started the communist movement and started ki-ling non-workers in Vietnam, China and such.
Just like workers get promoted to become managers, IT developers get promoted to become SM, RTE or executives .
More than AI or resume glamor you need a good overhaul in your attitude if you want anything good to happen in your life .
If you want to get a job especially in IT software development, you better put down a list of AI tools you have used and become expert on which has helped you become a better software developer. Better put as much AI stuff as possible (like used AI for automation, AI for code optimization, AI for testing code, AI for input parameter generation files, etc.). You need to have a heavily loaded resume with AI, AI, AI, AI...
All these young college graduates have a lot of AI experience.
Agile, Scrum, Release train are important but not as much as AI experience. Learn on youtube as much as you can about AI so you get familiar with the terminology when asked an interview question and aren't surprised.
