Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon is following AT&T’s 2020 VISION, announced 7 years later.

AT&T employees were informed 2016-2017 about the 2020 Vision cutting 1/3 of the workforce by 2020, and no manager having less than 10 direct reports.

Verizon is cutting 25% of the workforce by 2027 (does that mean there’s another 10% left to cut?), and no managers with less than 7-8 direct reports.

@c9 20 direct reports might as well be an unruly kindergarten class.

@a6 funny enough, I came over at the exact moment in which I got both AT&T’s and Verizon’s “celebration” bonus to employees after the tax reform bill was signed.

Verizon probably is heading towards this. Every telecom company is just trading employees these days and facing low morale and job uncertainty.

Dan has made it very clear multiple times now that he plans to keep cutting and implementing Ai in their place.

Should be minimum 20 direct reports.

I was a part of those Layoffs, and I can tell you Unequivocally that is EXACTLY what is happening. Came over to VZ after the T layoffs and then left during the VSP Layoffs as soon as those were announced. Watching both companies circling the Drain, losing Tenured employees and eroding morale from within. ( declining Stock, failed mergers, cost cutting, and incessant layoffs at both ).
