Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Not relatively to layoff.. asking question to experienced HR professionals.

When it comes to forced ratings of performance reviews people say document everything. Is this a personal document I print? In my case I am being targeted.
Going to HR will do nothing except make the situation worse. No retaliation is a blanket statement that does not hold any real value. Unless you are reporting something fraudulent.

Another question… my manager uses the “F” word in meetings. Yes I am one of the few that finds this offensive. How to handle this? I do not feel comfortable sharing that with him.

For the 10% that know someone two to three levels up performance doesn’t matter, you will get meets or above. For half the 25% that put blood and effort into the firm you will get meets and above. For the 5-10% that perform horrible, you will get below meets. For the 50-70% left you will randomly be assigned an IM. Just know it’s not you, it’s HR forcing your boss to do it. Shut up and take it this year so you won’t be chosen next year for similar. And all of you except for the first group should be looking for somewhere else to work.

Never go to HR, you will be blacklisted and what you say will get communicated back to your Manager. If your Manager’s Manager asks for feedback for your Manager during performance review time, you can include that your Manager uses colorful language. Chances are, his Manager knows and will have to do something about his direct using language.

There should be a class action against Wells Fargo since managers are responsible for changing long-term employees' performance ratings to deny severance pay by termination.

I’ve had a similar situation that included getting HR involved and I’m pretty sure that blacklisted me.

@c9
Curios ….
Did your manager provide you a written warning about performance? Were you provided a plan to improve?

Sounds like I had same boss..only my boss only chose me to target for a slow career death by performance stack ranking that culminated to being fired Dec 2nd. HR does not care because it aligns with OC direction to avoid severance. Expect the worse. Hope for the best. Best wishes OP

I can assure you retaliation is real and it happens. Doesn't matter what the training material says that we have to take every year.
HR will document your complaint - and then your manager will "take this into consideration" at next review time. Trust me, been there, done that.
Only solution is to grin and bear it, or move on. That's it.
