Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Why even ask if more layoffs are coming?

That’s just how it is - layoffs, all the time. We probably won’t even have to wait until next Friday, or Sept 2, or whatever date is floating around, to find out.

@cb Of course they get hit... Nobody said fed doesn't get hit. They are just far less likely to get hit versus corporate dell. And if/when fed IS hit, it's on average very very minimal and is almost always the sales dept that gets hit.

Many people I know who are being impacted have already been given the heads up, if they have decent Managers / Directors.

95-99% of the time, this site (users) just post random stuff to troll. Layoffs never end at Dell and there is never a specific date in which layoffs will occur. It's always and nothing but speculation. Sometimes it's correct, most times it's wrong as he-l.

@c7 This is true but, layoffs are CONSTANT at dell. They don't ever stop. They just have the "larger" ones habitually in the Feb/Mar and Aug/Sept area every year. Sometimes they are smaller, other times they are larger.

@ap lol no you don't. Nice try diddy. IF this is true then I can say without a doubt that fed sales will be immune, cyber, and certain branches of IT will be left out. But unless you divulge this "good source" then you are full of it and just want to stir the pot.

The problem is the perception. People see a couple of reports of layoffs on here and think it is significant. even the last "layoff" was less than 2% which isn't significant at all. Letting 20-30 ppl a week go is normal for any 100,000 person company, getting rid of 10,000 at one time would actually mean something. Even last year, we laid off 12,500 but hired 7500 new people

@OP humans want comfort. They want someone to tell them the storm has passed and they can enjoy the sunshine a bit. That’s why it’s so stressful to work for a company like Dell, you can’t ever fully focus on your work or building a long term relationship with the company, because a sword dangled by Bain and Michael Dell is always dangled above your head.
