Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is there anybody in the C-Suite who could right this ship?

A single capable person? If there is, who is it?

@kn EXACTLY!!! India has always played both sides, flattering US and Europe while at the same time doing the same with our non-allies, such as Russia, China, Iran, etc.

I have said this to my colleagues in the past about the Indian government and their prime minister. But for some reason no one wants to listen.

You cannot trust someone when they never take a stand on whom they align with but instead just try to play both sides of the fence. That is what double agent spies are like.

@jx yes WS will and look how debt accumulates quarter to quarter by huge margins

@dq India is playing lip service to BRICS members and US, trying to play both sides. This won’t end well for them, given the Iran/Pakistan/China/Russia relationship. They will be forced to choose sooner rather than later.

@jx 😆 you know me now I see. Bravo 👏
Do you know how many employees have been caused “h@rm” by this company? I was once extremely loyal and now my eyes are open. “Wallstreet” will lie for them. Saying one thing and doing another doesn’t work. The truth shows now in: Bad Press, several layoffs, pretty much monthly, the breach that “Change Healthcare” brought, causing many bad downstream effects, former employees documenting “threats” same for doctors who speak up. No happy, healthy, productive and good company does these things. I worked here for 15 years. Much longer than you I’m sure.

@h3 your hatred for the company is 100% fine, that has nothing to do with the truth though. Wall Street will tell you how the company is doing, revenues will tell you other company is doing. They're too big to fail, once you realize these things, you'll understand. Ignoring those facts and strictly sticking to your hatred narratives blinds you from the facts.

@gv What correction with several open investigations, complaints, bad layoff packages, employees who speak up being silenced, doctors who speak up being silenced? What correction exactly? We’ll believe it when we see it! Corrections mean RIGHTING ALL WRONGS! Not the usual BS lip service.

@gw @company of this size” 😆 more like sinking ship! Reputation is in the trash! Losing money, downward spiral, and layoffs on a monthly basis. Sounds great! Continue sleeping. Thinking you are large and invincible is the reason for what’s happening now. And do you think the breach that affected thousands of clients didn’t affect UHG because of its size? 😁 Keep thinking that.

@cr oh yeah, like former employees and social media mean anything to a company of this size. Please get a life

@cs the op mentioned someone who could fix it. @c5 is correct.. people may not like the changes that are being employed especially in optum, but the bottom line is revenue is indeed up and the market has responded. As far as the shareholders are concerned, and let's face the fact the shareholders are the only thing that matters, the company has been corrected and is moving in the right direction. C5 again is completely correct whether anybody here likes it or not.

@ct I'm specifically asking about those high up the chain, not low-level managers.

Who were "the good ones" amongst the C-Suite?

@ca I agree...the leaders now like to hide and instead of going to their peers on explanations they go to subordinates because it makes them look knowledgeable. There is no one in my view that has a leadership shadow I want to follow. I always try to give benefit of the doubt because no human or leader is perfect. But over the past few years, it has been horrific.

@ec A simple Google Search on “NAFTA and Outsourcing” will give you very good explanations on the relationship and how this opened the door for that. Now let’s get back to the original discussion on the poor leadership left in this company.

@ec Do your research. That was the beginning of outsourcing. While it’s been revised several times, the issue clearly still persists! Also, I’m not saying Indians are taking American jobs, read and comprehend 😆. The blame is on companies like UHG and many others that do this, not on the Indian people! The blame is also on these companies and on our government not ensuring even distribution of the H1B visa!

@dw ..How did a trade agreement between Canada/US/Mexico have anything to do with Indians taking tech jobs/flooding into the Americas? We're not in the manufacturing industry here.

If anything, Mexica/Canada being more focused on manufacturing/textiles would mean there's less of them to be available to take on IT/tech work.

Theres a few in F&A leadership that if you get under you can really grow and look out for you but lots of land mines to step on with some others..

Work loads can be insane too

@dq Where would India be if American workers weren’t sc--wed over with the NAFTA agreement enabling unchecked outsourcing and H1B only being giving to them and not to other countries and in a balanced way? Have several seats!

@c9 Nope, that’s a phishing expedition and this site is anonymous. Not unless you want us to mention those really high up in the chain. Most good leaders aren’t people managers. They are the self directed employees. Insecure, “vulture leaders” pushed these people all out as they are threatened by intelligence and integrity!

@c2 😆 Nice try! “Haters” This company and anyone who defends it are the haters. Not to mention liars. I’m trying to be polite here.

@c6 It’s already hit the iceberg. That’s why former employees who speak up are on social media, airing this company’s behind out on how they treat and threaten them, same for doctors, and also why the public can’t stand them either. They operated unethically for decades and now that’s no longer working and people are tired of their nonsense. Thinking you are invincible eventually gets you here.

Titanic about to hit the iceberg and It'll be too late. 100x, 10xShit, My Lund, Z, JD, DD, P all need to be replaced by an AI agents and 3 -4 normal people capable of running IT before this old ship sinks but they all scratch each other back so not much hope.

@b5 Yes indeed. It su-ks for us all. The cheaper labor in India and other Asia pac nations have made the decision easy for the company. Billy Joel said it long ago... (Paraphrase) "We're all gone, and they're still here". UHG will roll on just fine. IT is just an easily outsourced cost center.

@OP Well, revenue is up, profits are up, the market has responded by raging; so by every measurable marker, the current C-suite has fixed it with flying colors. Haters will no doubt negative me, call me names and so on, but the facts can't be run from. Sorry if you don't like it.

Optum leadership has decided that the ship needs to sail to India.

As everyone has said, anyone that questions the current direction is removed or side lined. There would have to be a major revenue crash for someone to come in and right the ship. No one at the top is interested in this. I think it’s past the point of no return.
