It took 5 years for Intel 14nm to mature. It might take up 10 years for the current 18A or 14A to mature because it is even more complicated to do with less people and no interest. Expect more layoffs to watch until then. Go get or upgrade your PhD degree to avoid next round of layoffs. This is no joke.
January layoffs is confirmed by multiple GLs, believe whatever fantasy you wanna believe.
Intel is struggling, the stock is predicted to go down 25 by end of Q4 review.
But will see on January mid week, just like November midweek.
Hard to grab a customer if the technology is not ready.
Being a foundry is to provide the matured service, it is not the contrary of asking customer to provide funding & help to Intel.
The future depends on capturing a customer just like the earnings report stated.
It even stated a timeline after which no future nodes would be developed if no customer is obtained.
If there is no future nodes and no captures foundry customer strap on in for 2026.
It will just be a repeat of 2025.
Really no way around it.
Probably 5-8 months left.
