Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

NJ offices how long before we all forced to relocate?

So it seems somewhat apparent that the writing is on the wall , RE is pricey in NJ (Northeaast) , and with little innovation coming out of NJ how long before execs order everyone to GA or TX , anyone have any credible info. With everyone consolidating into one building in Middletown and the recent more to a different facility in Bedminister, it seems like just arranging the deck chairs...

about 20 percent of people In ny/nj will be tapped to move to plano. so plan on retiring if you are over 40.

Just wait until they are done restacking Middletown, then the consolidation will begin. Paramus first, then Bedminster. Once/if Plano materializes, then groups will slowly move from NJ to TX. Timespan, 5-7 years.

Once the Plano headquarters is built, we’ll all be getting the tap.

@bw A tactic we stole directly from a competitor. Spectrum had been doing it for several years. Innovation!

@bw Spot on. But don't forget our pricing plans and sponsoring golf = innovation.

with little innovation coming out of NJ

There's no innovation coming out of ATT anymore ANYWHERE. The company celebrated the "guarantee" as some huge innovation that they somehow thought was a modern equivalent to the invention of the telephone.

@ay

Middletown is owned and after closing the 4 non owned buildings there and cramming those left into the owned one, they are still doing construction to be able to cram yet more people in. Logically, even if this company has non, they have to be coming in from somewhere and will likely be first from those other locations.

One of the big tenants is cso and baich already magically created a new never on the radar before hub in Charlotte so am sure cso in middletown will eventually be gone giving more space to relocate other nj people before eventually shutting down as they also move those jobs out over time.

You will never be forced. The o option to move will be sent out and you have the choice to accept or decline.
