In townhalls, people keep complaining about GPDS. Leadreship talks about GPDS replacement. But GPDS keep getting fatter and keeps adding more non-value work on engineers.

@xw People don’t always need empathy; sometimes they need fairness.
Empathy can imply that someone did something wrong and now deserves sympathy. When the real issue is unfair treatment, framing it as a need for empathy misses the point. If I heard someone thought I needed empathy when what I actually needed was fairness, I’d find that deeply hurtful, because it reframes an injustice as a personal shortcoming.
I think people should listen to this audio and just think about some things it coveers...

Well you are right that it has risen to the top of the priority list. This is why we are watching in amazement as the blood bath continues. All those hard lessons that we witnessed by losing (and continuing to loose) billions upon billions just pass us by and are ignored. It's more like a train wreck you cannot look away from. Consider this one of your broken clock moments of being right today.
@kh Okay, so explain this to me, if money laundering is hiding the source of funds, how is FMC laundering money again? Or is it an issue on what they do with it?
GPDS is a gold standard in product development processes. It was the best when it was introduced and has been consistently refined and improved over its lifetime. Which is why it has been so successful
Who doesn't like the pocket card and it's convenience in product development!
What do you consider no naval he add? GPDS wouldn't be so bureaucratic if people knew how to do their jobs. Even leadership doesn't know the process.
@gp Ford is a visa mill, making money on international labor arbitrage. Also on office real estate.
@hd I understand the immigration scheme well, but can someone explain the money laundering thing?
@bw @bw @bw i agree with your comment about how bureaucrats bias is to keep fattening the bureacracy, instead of simplifying . GPDS process team lacks proper understanding of how the PD processes and Organization work. One way to simplify the process is to transfer out "Process Life Timers" from that team, bring in fresh set of people from engineering and other affected areas who can better define a nimble proceess, and reduce the size of bureaucrats. When you have fewer bureaucrats in team, Non-value things will drop off automatically.... Trick is to bring in high performers from other areas to do process work... may be bring in high performers on 2 to 4 year developmental rotation... change the culture ... reduce policing and increase trust/ empowerment for engineering teams...
The way it goes
Ford is a money laundering operation that happens to make cars.
Once you see that, everything starts to make sense.

Skunkworks has moved to the top of importance in the company hierarchy. Second only to Model e, because it is Model e that will bring the products Skunkworks initiates to the masses.
Will hold judgement on skunkworks. Being lean is great with the experience and wisdom to make good decisions. Gutting of experience and knowledge is typically not supportive to thay approach.
Bureaucracy is created by Bureaucrats.... unless you trim the number of Bureaucrats, they will keep fattening up Bureaucracy for self preservation... Ultimate Job Security is to create a Giant policing process which no one can understand.. tough for senior leaders to cut this entranched bureaucracy...
Need to look into lean processes... skunkworks probably is lean and mean when they aren't complaining about ICE on social media.
