Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Respectfully of course

Great to see Queen Kate Publish for her great job she’s done turning Lumen around…. How fitting it was posted on Lay off day. That’s your Marketing at work.

I wonder how many Layoff’s happen at Apple per year and Yet Tim Cook isn’t gloating about the good job he does.

Unfortunately layoffs will be oncoming and accelerate according to my manager. Eventual goal of company is trim down the portfolio of services and become a more nimble company.

@cn That was a definite buddy hookup. That leader could never fill the shoes of his predecessor. Not a chance.

I am have never seen such a toxic good old boy environment in the all the years that I worked for the company. A very top heavy organization with leaders, at least mine, who would rather have a someone worshipping them rather than getting the job done.
If these customers really knew what was going on…they would run to the competition.

@cp It's hilarious they keep pushing system conversions and the like.
No one has explained to ceo the concept of company proprietary information. She needs to stop talking about it.
The old timers managed to work in the old legacy systems. Spend that money elsewhere.

@a1 miss management from the top is only going to contine to fu-k things up for the working stiffs left doing the work. They keep laying off, pushing out, or letting walk the tenure professionals that knew the work arounds to using all the broken systems and processes there are still in place. The young bucks left without that knowledge are sc--wed. Good luck.

@ba no sh-t. Who would've ever imagine there was an illegal immigrant leading a key organization in the company. What kind of fu---d up buddy system hookup bullsh-t was that?

@bv The courage to lay off people.
And seriously seeing the ceo soak up every word.
To change the corporate culture maybe learn about the company from the ground up. From the employees who do the work.
How many millions of dollars did she waste.

@bv Brene Brown Dare to Lead was and is a joke! A company taken advice from someone that has never had a real job, started a real company or even worked for a real company!

@a1 Well said! Sadly, at least for now it seems, Wall Street is buying the rhetoric. Might be a much different narrative should the truth about the internal organizational, operational and security dysfunctions get exposed ;-)

After years of dedication, it’s disheartening to see how Lumen’s “turnaround” narrative celebrates leadership metrics while overlooking the toll on employees and customers.
Many long-tenured, knowledgeable professionals are being laid off or pushed out through burnout and toxic culture practices — all while systems remain broken and customers pay the price.
True transformation isn’t about executive talking points; it’s about transparency, accountability, and respect for the people who actually keep the business running.
