Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

New job posted for anyone who thinks the circus is done

It’s smart that they would wait until after making sweeping changes to the workforce to bring in someone to develop a workforce plan.

Expect more offshoring, more layoffs, and less stability for the foreseeable future.

Another security guard. Guess getting caught giving out unwanted visitors that were not registered or contract into the building was not enough to satisfy that narcissistic mind sets but now lower your budgets was the right call. But then most of security guard are under DEI's ans sedesco's payroll. So who's the ones going to be taking accountability here? Have fun with that.

@e2
Well I do not have to "Prove you wrong" however, some departments have lost 80% of US staff. If you have not experienced this in your department, I would look around and ascertain whether any jobs in your area can be done in a low cost geography. If so, then your department will be in the future years to come.
If your department positions cannot be outsourced then you are in a unique job, because most job positions can be outsourced, even if it is by an outsourced contracting company in the USA. The biggest driver for cost reduction is the USA accounting system, contracting is an expense which is directly deductible from revenue. Employees are a long term cost that carries retirement, health care, etc.
so a large portion of jobs will be outsourced to reduce costs as Chevron moves into low cost / maximum revenue corporate strategy.

We have a potential Indian CEO in the wings, BK, and I assure you that he's there to do what Satya Nadella at Microsoft and Sundar Pinchai at Google have done: ship as many American jobs to India as possible, bring in H1B workers to perform domestic work, and deliver the lowest quality product that the market will tolerate. This so-called "Strategic Workforce Planning Lead" is merely the pawn charged with executing the personnel portion on his behalf.

@bs it’s a myth, no numbers were ever released. I see the same people still here. At most we lost 5% of US employees. Prove me wrong.

@bs who was it before that decided to leave?

True. Another problem is they probably had a Workforce Planning Lead who decided to leave. The 2025 Mass Exodus was massive.
