Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Short term thinking is sinking Dell

Everything here is built around the next report instead of building something stable. People keep saying we matter, but the decisions never match the words. Offshoring set off a slow slide that everyone felt right away. The culture has not recovered since, and it shows in every corner of the place.

@ea I guarantee EMC had a long term in place when it easier acquired. I also guarantee that if it were followed Dell as a whole would be doing a lot better than it is now. EMC was on an rapidly upward trajectory with major plans to expand before dell leadership got involved and ph---d it all up.

@br how is that 10 year plan working out from 2016? Should be seeing the fruits of that long term planning any day now? Hows the EMC stock doing these days? Built something so stable it got acquired lmao

short term thinking will only change if wall street changes, no more quarterly reviews, lets play quinquennial financial reporting

Look at our SVPs and executive staff. They have absolutely no idea what they’re doing.

Yeah it's a far cry from the 3-5 or even 10 year planning ahead we had at EMC.
